It must be very frustrating to be a Spurs fan, tbh.

A talented squad, yet aren't able to maintain their decent starts.

Pochettino knows this, but often finds excuses to hide away from this mentality issue.

End of the day, the personality of a team comes from the manager. Especially when they're there long term. Doesn't matter the quality of the manager.

Pep's teams are always patient, determined, composed and relentless.

Warnock's teams are always solid, aggressive, dirty, hard working.

Mourinho's teams (before he lost the plot) tend to be arrogant, confident, infused with an everyone-hates-us siege mentality.

Simeone's team is hard working, competitive, stubborn.

You can do this for Klopp, Pearson, Pulis, it doesn't matter who. Managers tend to cultivate a personality in a squad and look for players that fit it.

That Poch has been at Spurs as long as they have and has pretty much single handedly helped to grow and sustain a reputation and proven track record for bottling it and being mentally weak is just very much on him. He's obviously a soft man, he even sounds like a soft man when he's sat there making excuses in interviews. He's been there long enough to recruit a team of composed, hard working winners even if it was in him but apparently it isn't.
