vanity Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 People have been complaining about his play, but as I go back and review some of his Leicester highlights, I think what is happening is that our recent narrow play is costing him a lot of the angles he exploits. This problem has been compounded by Chilwell's absene/Fuch's lesser ability to deliver width, as well as our narrow attack congesting the field of play with defenders clustered in the center of the pitch, which severely narrows his passing windows. It will be interesting to see how he performs in those games Rodgers sees fit to use more traditional wingers -- hopefully we see a return to form.
urban.spaceman Posted 24 August 2019 Posted 24 August 2019 Some people tend to forget that players tend to play +40 games a season and seem to judge them on literally 2 games Into it instead. Weird innit.

Weird innit. No, People are judging him on a game by game basis and so far this season he hasn't been near his best. I wouldn't worry though, Some players take a little longer to get up to speed. Plus he has to work out an understanding with Perez. At the moment Perez is filling the space on the right of the box where Youri liked to drift into. Now he's finding the space filled and has to check his run. I wouldn't worry he's an intelligent player and he'll work it out.
ithuriel Posted 25 August 2019 Posted 25 August 2019 He will come good again, he does seem to work best though when Maddy is alongside him rather than playing further forwards.

fuchsntf Posted 25 August 2019 Posted 25 August 2019 A few have stated he will come Good again..... He hasnt been poor, just Not the wonder-Kind some Posters are expecting... Tielemans IMO is doing alright, bis position is allowing Maddison to roam... Also if hadnt gone unnoticed, from 3 games,we have played 2 from home...!!! Managers dont go qvor the over excited fans, we should,we could so this or that, they have targets, ideas in their squad potential ,and follow their own ideas of selection, formation, and want to see how it pans out for a while, with small tweeks here & there... There would be even a bigger discussion,if he had swapped and changed the Weekly Set up....!!!!! Don t Keep looking for things that arent yet a given. Its this season thats the beginning for this squad, your own perspectives,Song be that of other fellow supporters, und Definition not of any managers. The manager has chosen ,his first concept...with The Conception of Not changing it after 3 games.....until he has seen where he might make those small changes, either in players,or tactics.... Like always everybody wants to Play "football-manager" and be the One to tell all where ist not working... Just relax, sit back und enjoy ,instead of trying to be the chosen " clever-clogs" Tielemans, only this season has made a big upheavel,Now he has to Play for the good of the manager & team,he was to re-settle,in all aspects,Club & Personal life. Last season was another life..!! Oh and I still think hes playing ok....and yesterday he had to be aware of his new partner...and a more aggressive teammate in Praet & Choudry... Forced Change & tweeks..!!
Finnegan Posted 25 August 2019 Posted 25 August 2019 The whole team plays better with wide players. It changes the entire balance of the side. Almost every player in the league has been brought up playing either 442 or a variation of 451 (433, 4231, 4411, et), you get used to where people will be and where they'll move. We're trying to get used to a new shape and new personnel and everyone looks lost in it quite frankly.

We aint going to turn into a free flowing Side overnight.End of last season tactically doesnt count, the team, the squad have to start again ,the manager has to see in "Live" games , after chosing a starting formation what needs to be tweeked while also giving time for ideas to develope. Thats why I believe we are far too hasty ,After 1,2,3 or 5 games,in telling all and sundry, that Rodgers has got it wrong, and we should do this or that!!! Plus anybody thought, for First Games balance,Tielemans has been asked to hold und slow it down.... in past seasons,we lost goals, too Early because we were pushing up too much and got caught...

We appeared lethargic and not switched on and was constantly caught cold and conceding within the first five minutes. The complaints from the players were overlong training sessions with no intensity. Rodgers appears to have taken a cautious approach to games, perhaps having taken into account our first ten games.? It has been said that to procure his services we paid £9m to get him in early, the 12 game interview should have allowed him to formulate a pattern of play and the ability to implement, on day one, as the personell had not changed. I can only surmise that we will be looking to open up and release our midfield and implement a more higher tempo in our play and certainly support Vardy more.....after game ten.!
Lambert09 Posted 26 August 2019 Posted 26 August 2019 Personally I thought he had a decent game on Saturday
oxford blue Posted 26 August 2019 Posted 26 August 2019 Arguably Tieleman's worst game this season was when Chilwell played (although he (Chilwell) was far below his usual standard).

The point I was tying to make is that having Chilwell in the side does not necessarily mean Tielemans plays well. I think it is more complex than that, including the integration of Perez and the set up by Rodgers.
cropstonfox Posted 27 August 2019 Posted 27 August 2019 some players take 3-4, matches to get back into the season...sharpnesswise . Training cannot simulate match intesity mentally and physically. A full close season means building up stamina and fitness again He hasn't become poor over night.A couple more games and he'll be fine.

Actually one of the players mentioned something about needing full fitness to really shine. Here it is, Maddison it was... Maybe Saturday wasn’t his best game, but everybody is still getting up to full fitness levels, three games into the season.'
ThaiFox Posted 28 August 2019 Posted 28 August 2019 Our midfielders look confused with their roles in the side. Only Maddison has played well (in patches) through matches. It is early days, but Perez & Tielemans look lost so far in this team set up, and Praet looked like he had no idea what his role was, or where he should play against Sheff Utd. Width provides balance to the team and it creates space and pockets which creative players thrive on.
