Wow, what a effed up situation.

I read two articles about this and not sure what to believe but sounds as though he got shitfaced, acted like a knob and got thrown out (which is about right if this is what happened).

The problem i have is with people who then think it's okay to want to break his ankles. Sure, perhaps he said stupid things or was giving it the big. Heck, perhaps  he wasn't. Either way what a stupid thing to do to someone.  Just walk away people! I dont get the need to have to teach anyone a lesson and beating them up over absolutely nothing.

Problem is we have 1 side of the story here so unsure what really happened.

Danny, stay out of the club scene  mate and focus on you, your career and those loved ones around you.

The schadenfreude for the failure of ex-players to live up to their billing is enjoyable, granted, but there's a limit to it.

We can all laugh when Mahrez spends most of his time on Man City's bench, or Maguire's record-breaking move failing to help the defence of the quote-unquote "biggest club in the world" keep out the likes of Crystal Palace or Southampton. It is funny, whichever way you slice it. :giggle:

Sitting and smirking as an ex-player is beaten to a bloody pulp on the streets, amidst trying to regain some control from his personal demons, for reasons we are assuming rather than confirmed as fact? That's poor form.

I don't pretend to have any sympathy for how it's gone on the pitch for Drinkwater, and yes I've found it every bit as amusing as the rest of our ex-players who have had a rude awakening when seeking pastures new. However, away from the pitch the man clearly has some real demons he needs real help tackling. I wonder if some of the people kicking him while he's down here would in the same breath defend Gazza during one of his own episodes? It's the same story of a pro battling with, and often losing to, his vices as he sees his peak fade behind him.

Footballers are human beings, and one who endeared himself to a lot of us has just been assaulted and possibly left with career-threatening injuries. Get a grip and stop joking about it. :nono:

Sad to see so many so called Leicester fans revelling in the misfortunes of a double title winning ex player. Hope nothing bad ever happens to you lot

Off topic a bit...but what was the other title he won?

A really sorry state of affairs.

He's a good player and needs help, because he's pissing his career up the wall. It took him far too long to move to another club and now he's gotten himself in trouble again. Hope someone can put an arm round him and get him sorted. To think he was in the mix for England's Euro 2016 squad and now he can't get a game for Burnley.

He's got head demons and i doubt his agent had his best footballing interests at heart, his wallet maybe. He was never going to make it big at Chelsea and i suspect they signed him because of the home grown player rule.

'Drinkwater will get second chance - Dyche'

Could just be toeing the PR line here, but respect how Dyche has handled this. Saying they'll work with Drinkwater to get him back to his best. Reading between the lines you can tell Drinkwater has problems and Dyche seems happy to help him work through them.

Convenient that the BBC have quoted the same interview and yet given the entirely different outcome to Sky. Click bait at its finest.

As much as I think trying to break the guy's legs is a bit much, I'd love to see the reserved reactions of those appalled by it on here if their other halves were chatted up by someone who refused to take no for an answer.

I would probably swiftly leave the venue with my OH (if I had one, obviously) or ask the venue to eject the person causing the trouble.

I wouldn't round up a load of mates to kick shit out of someone because it gains faack all.
Only alpha-male knob-jockeys resort to violence in that scenario.

Of course, if the trouble maker was getting violent themselves then of course one would probably fight back, especially if me or the OH was in physical danger.

It sounds like DD was being a dick but for me not enough of a dick that deserves to be smashed up in the way he was.

I did say that what's happened was a bit much...

Once you get alcohol in your system everything's amplified isn't it?

A shame for him. He should have learnt the lesson from Utd where he was deemed not good enough and ended up at Barnsley. He was a big fish at Leicester, thought he was to big for our pond.

Big mistake.

I hope he can turn it around and learns his lessons, however no time is against him too.

This is also a lesson for other players big clubs aren't all they are cracked up to be, you have to be one your game all the time.
