Never really commented on Scottish football but...

If you stick Rangers & Celtic in the English prem they will always be in the bottom half of the table, like a Fulham/Florist/Everton type of team

The gap between the 2 leagues is immense and always will be

Initially they might, but with the financial benefits of being in the premier league they'd likely end up pretty big sides in the league

It's a boring argument and I really don't like either Old Firm side but there are so many variables. They both get gates of 50-60k week after week. Stick them in a stronger league and they could conceivably expand that considerably. Add in the fact they'd both be a ridiculously attractive proposition for foreign investors because of their commercial appeal (which would also grow even more by default if you stuck them in the Premier League) and I think it becomes borderline impossible to say with certainty how they'd do. They aren't just going to keep the same squads they have now if they have Barclays riches.

Celtic in the PL especially would be a dream ticket for some Yank with more money than sense given the appeal they could have in the US.

Yes I get that totally. But thats the same with every team in the PL

But you stick them as "its says on the tin" in the EPL now and they would struggle

But its not the same as every team in the PL, is it?

In a PSR driven Premier League, the matchday and (potential) commercial revenues both OF cubs could get would dwarf a number of clubs currently in the English top flight. Celtic already have more of a global appeal than half the clubs in the Premier League and they play in a considerably weaker division.

Partial to Dundee, if I had to choose.

We used to get some TV coverage here in Canadaland. Of course, it's always involved Celtic and/or Rangers.

Can't even recall the last time I saw a match from the SPL. Not on any of the sports channels here or any of the streaming services. Which is strange considering the amount of Scots living here.

Like most people, I'd love to see any one non OF win it, but it'll be Celtic.

I would say that Celtic would probably adjust to being an upper mid PL team, potentially winning cups and challenging for Europe. Rangers would start brighter for the first few seasons and tumble down the leagues. Bouncing between league 1 and Championship.

The subject has been done to death, but it bears repeating that:

Even if the Rangers and Celtic wanted it.

And even if the Premier League wanted it.

And even if the powers that be in Scottish Football could put up with the weakening of the game up here and the inevitable undermining of the concept of Scottish football (and the National team) being separate from English.

And even if they could work out some way of doing it that wouldn't end in legal action from the English clubs that missed out or made way for them.

There is no way on earth that the Authorities would ever allow it to happen.

For the Chief Constables of English forces, the prospect or tens of thousands of Orcs/Beggars descending upon and laying alcohol and coke induced waste to their cities every week for 9 months is unthinkable, ever since Manchester in 2008.

It will never ever happen and despite that, it

will always, always be speculated about.

Probably my favourite UK derby to watch on TV. Glad I caught the end of that one.

Yep. Passionate fans and perfect traditional setup in that both clubs give each other's fans the whole end.

Celtic and Rangers use to be like that, but not in recent years.

Big January for Celtic board.

Lots of "friendly" media saying the Nancy experiment is over and needs replaced.

Give him millions to spend or look elsewhere?
