A lot of pearl clutching about pitch invasions these days which is pure classism. ‘Can’t have members of the public being near elite sportsmen, they might get hurt’.

Needs to be made very clear that there is a huge difference between pitch invasions after the final whistle, and what Celtic have done today; which is stop the game being completed. If it’s after the game I say go nuts even if it is a bit forced when you win every year.

Celtic and Rangers fans have a well-earned reputation for being violent, coke fuelled thugs and that is a separate issue.

And then do nothing lol

That was the point.  Statements no action.

Let's see if the club itself says anything or sweeps it under the carpet.

Police Scotland will have to act on the individuals attacking Shankland.

I can't but give credit for the passion both Glasgow club fans have for their football, but when it goes overboard like it does today it sickens the rest of us.

Its ironic scottish league yet the club who wins year in year out associate themselves with Ireland. Just doesnt seem right somehow.

I swear the league are scared of celtic supporters and there connections. Dont see many var decisions go against them. I think we know that celtic got so some soft decisions that lead them to the title.

Like I said when you have the clubs with positions on the boards in scotland they'll never be any change.  The police can target some fans but the vast majority won't see any punishment.  The police often complain about the lack of co-operation when dealing with the old firm clubs because they have a self interest in not helping them.

Nothing will ever change until there's an independant body like we have in england, but no-one wants to anger the OF because they are the cash cows, so it will never happen.

I guess the way things are going then something truly tragic could happen in scotland then maybe it could force a change...but even then I don't think it would.

We saw last season an aberdeen player almost blinded and he could've been killed when a seat smashed him in the face...what happened?  Nothing.  We've seen riots at Ibrox the likes we've not seen in 40 years...what happens?  The UB not being able to get tickets...but they did anyway.

Similiar scenes like we saw at ibrox recently happened in the czech republic and they've had severe punishment, nothing happened when it happened at OF..and the reason for that lies in what I stated earlier.

Slavia Prague fans stormed the pitch in injury time last week, whilst 3-2 up just before they were about to be crowned champions.  Game abandoned and 3-0 victory awarded to the opposition.

Just sayin'

Justice and sweet revenge? Ain’t gonna happen though.

Some Celtic/Rangers fans don't need lessons on displaying bigoted views.

No disagreement there, see below.

Celtic are a vile club. Rangers are a vile club. It’s a real sickener when you see the Rangers/Leicester city flags or scarf combinations.

Yeah, a pox on both their houses. The real irritant is when anyone claims one or the other is somehow morally pure.

Must get boring in scotland when the same two from the same city win it every single year. Sadly doubt we will see another club like hearts come close like this for a while.

Been like that for decades but you can see by the fans reactions they aint bored, the passion is too great.  Unlike when we see man city win title after title, their fans genuinely seemed bored.  Most of it is either fuelled by the hate between rangers and celtic or hatred of the OF by all the other clubs.  It's been an amazing season.

I'd hope with Tony Bloom's input they'll at least make it a three-horse race most seasons and win at least one in the next few seasons. They have the backing and the knowhow to achieve more with fewer resources, and if they continue to challenge their ability to spend money will increase and therefore give them a better chance of winning it. I think they're set up to win it sooner rather than later.

Of course the level is poorer when the tv/prize money is so much less than the EPL
Give Celtic and Rangers the same amount of money as Prem teams and obviously they would be of a higher standard, and with the size of their fanbases they'd be considered big clubs

I'm sure Celtic's board would still refuse to spend 90% of that money though
