UpTheLeagueFox Posted 5 April 2020 Posted 5 April 2020 When I had a season ticket in the late 90s, lower tier, Carling Stand, towards the kop end, there was a guy or two who spent every game slagging off Steve Guppy. He was definitely underrated by some of our fans.
Blue ROI Posted 5 April 2020 Posted 5 April 2020 Albrighton is underrated by most of our fans for sure. I've lost count how many times he has proven people wrong over the years. There was many times I was more impressed with him after a game than Mahrez. If most fans had any say on team selection he might not have been there to score the goal against Sevilla! I'd say Steve Walsh was never recognised much outside of Leicester. Put in some great displays for us. If he was in his prime nowadays and playing in this era there would be a lot more calls for him to be playing for England.
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 5 April 2020 Posted 5 April 2020 Whitlow and Grayson were brilliant for us during the 96/97 season especially. Never got much praise, Grayson widely derided for a large portion of the time he was here.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 5 April 2020 Posted 5 April 2020 Anyone remember David Lowe ? I always liked him but he never cemented a place a Leicester. I think he finished our second top scorer in 94/95 premier league season. Always thought he could be a main man for the next season but didn’t happen.

Never really cemented a place in Division One (Championship) but did really well in the Premier League in 94/95 considering how bad we were.

He was a decent player. The sort who would fit in well in a modern front three.
Guest An Sionnach Posted 5 April 2020 Posted 5 April 2020 Colin Appleton was nearly as good as Bobby Moore in the mid-sixties.
49er Posted 5 April 2020 Posted 5 April 2020 Steve Lynex never got the true recognition that he deserved in terms of his significant contribution to the making of Gary Lineker. Where would Gary have been without Charlie Chan’s pace and trickery which created so many chances?

He was fine and looked tidy enough for a couple of games after Claude took over (incredible when we beat Spurs 2-1 at home) but apart from that I thought everything he did looked laboured and he never really had an influence on games, his passing wasn't as good as expected, and he clearly wasn't suited to Premier League football. More fondly remembered because he seems a really great bloke rather than anything he did on the pitch.

Alan Woollett a good defender barracked unmercifully after one bad game against Everton I am surprised to see Steve Guppy mentioned never heard anything but praise for him

foxfanazer Posted 12 April 2020 Posted 12 April 2020 Leo Ulloa for me. Always came up big when needed and scored some crucial goals. Great song as well Danny Simpson. Out of all the title winners he probably gets the least amount of credit but he was 7/10 almost every week that season
