It's a golden age of just believing any old shite.

No Bellend, I don't care much for curiosity or even knowing things, anything really. I still like to get a bit cross though and getting theatrically irate at the very mention of insert name of largely unremarkable politician/organisation/institution/idea/concept/accepted scientific fact is pretty much my main reason to live now, keeps me going it does. And yes, I don't know when this began or why because as already noted I have effectively no sense of curiosity

Middle aged people in the office still moaning and whining about how much their pensions have gone down. I have politely noted to them the following helpful tips:

- Continue to work hard

- Stop buying avocado on toast on weekends

- Live within their means

- Get rid of Netflix

- Bring a packed lunch

- Find a pair of bootstraps and pull them up

I am sure if these pointers are followed these people will have a prosperous retirement.

Who do they blame, out of interest, if anybody?

Other than me, of course

All good advice, however, the netflix thing really is a red herring.

Netflix can save people money through relatively cheap entertainment that prevents more expensive sources of entertainment being sourced.

Avo on toast is ****ing disgusting so with you on that

Who do they blame for the fall? Who knows, anyone I imagine. Like many people of their generation, they are investment geniuses when the markets and property values are serenely going up and obviously fully deserve their unjustifiably comfortable lifestyles, but it is some bogeyman's fault when values go down.

Trump pauses tariffs, Nasdaq up 9%, crazy times.

Just a thought, if you knew in advance what Trump was

going to announce each day you could be making some

serious money.

Of course they are. And Trump is in on it for sure. He should be in handcuffs for what he's doing.

I'm not so sure. I think when you reach a certain level, money is largely irrelevant. It's about power. Trump wants adulation and controversy and legacy. Not an extra zero on his bank balance

Same goes for Putin. The fact he's a billionaire isn't his buzz. He needs more than money.

As I said a few posts ago, black edge runs the markets. There’s absolutely no doubt many would’ve front run this. I reckon these days to be a vaguely competent PM you need a link into the White House.

Why is anyone  not intending taking their pension within the next year or so interested in what their pension is doing.  It’s a bit like worrying about the value of your house. Unless you’re thinking about moving or have an 80%+ LTV mortgage it’s sort of not relevant.

Trump literally tweets "it's a great time to buy" and 4 hours later lifts the tariffs.

You've got to respect the audacity sometimes.

****in criminal. Disgraceful.

The worst part  is that republicans will suck his choda on this and say great strategy your majesty Trump.  What a bunch of inbred tossers.

I don't mean Trump is in it to make money. He's in it gain favour with those people who can influence things the way he wants.

Is anyone really surprised at the blatant market manipulation?

As others have said, it's not about the money, it's about the power and getting off on it.
