With facemasks becoming compulsory in all shops across England tomorrow, will this change the way you will now shop?

With online shopping increasing nationally, will you be joining this trend? Will you be getting your takeaways delivered rather than going in to the takeaway itself?

I've been having a debate with some people. I believe you'll find shops are going to be more quiet, and it'll cause businesses to lose a lot of money. However, others feel it will do the opposite as people will feel more safe. Thoughts?

The pandemic has changed how I shop wearing a face mask won't.

The only change for me could be make me more likely to go shopping knowing there are no unmuzzled germ carriers about, but in reality I don't now go to the shops unless I have to and I do most of it online.

Unmuzzled germ carriers is a little extreme..

Would you prefer mouth breathing disease mongers? Unfettered granny killers?

The government have said since March facemasks won't protect you, why now?

Nah. Ordered some comfy rewashable masks so no problem wearing them. Order most of my non-essential stuff online as it is, but won't effect supermarket shopping a bit.

No doubt it will be a cluster**** for the first weekend though. Gonna be plenty of muppets fighting it for no reason.

The government were wrong, but we had such a shortage at that time it would have been wrong for the people to use them up.

Secondly the main benefit of masks is not to protect you from others but to protect them from you. There are seemingly a lot of asymptomatic spreaders in the community with no symptoms but the capacity to spread the disease. You, me anyone could have it without knowing wearing a mask, just in case, will save lives

I Don t like online Shopping  Full stop..!!

But still do it for somethings but not food.

I prefer to See and choose the Food I want to cook & eat ( sauces, mustard, stuffing, etc Occasionally for British goods),

I could see it Making a difference,  the girls all around the world Love shopping,to meet, get out and mingle.

I Really have no idea if the mask will change the present character of the shoppers...

If it goes on up to and well After christmas, online Shopping because of  Corvid could well be the Death Knell of town-centershops & famous names...!!!

Just got back from Scotland where face masks are already mandatory in shops and whilst I understand why, I didn’t like it and it made shopping almost unbearable. I don’t like wearing a mask or having my face covered. Will just have to limit my time in shops to a minimum and use online shopping more.

Strictly speaking, they won't protect you, but they protect everyone else.

Can we please stop online shopping until Royal Mail employ more staff? Which isn't going to happen anytime soon as apparently, despite being deluged with work, we're losing money hand over fist. :dunno:

And you thought Leicester City were inept!

Because they are clueless and are led by scientists, making sluggish decisions based on what the scientists advise.

I'm not buying into this there's not enough ppe either.  All you need to make a face mask is a piece of cloth and two elastic bands.

The govt advice on where and how to go about getting one is virtually non existent.  Although tbf Costa did FB a link today, although you could say it's a little late with less than 24 hrs to go.

Not at all. Quite happy wearing my mask to the supermarket and other shops. I just pretend I'm Zorro (one for the young uns :D)

I heard that there had been a worrying spike in Z-shaped stabbings in the Leicestershire area......

When I go shopping, I pretend I'm Champion the Wonder Horse. You should see me get down the aisles.

Like a streak of flashing across the sky, like the swiftest arrow whizzing from a bow, like a mighty cannonball I seem to fly. You'll hear about me everywhere you go - or down at Sainsbury's Local, at least, as I've been banned.

They've said all along they are "following the science" and taking the "right steps at the right time", yet we have one of the highest death tallys in the world. Why should I trust anything they say?

How about other countries who have a lower death toll and have been wearing masks for weeks/months? It's not rocket science. You have a barrier so when you cough, sneeze or even talk the particles stop going into the air and instead are caught.

Living in Germany I Don t quite get the UK populace & media....

Many big shops/Supermarket have Security at the entrance, who would turn customers Away without face mask...

Plus shops organised entrance/Edit lines, with distancing marking..

I went to a Specialist shoeshop, where the staff, allowed a Customer without a mask to Shop around, so I & Another Customer just walked out.

Their loss..!!!

Media did try und stir it up,but the majority of Germans despite early very small demostrations...just got on with it...

There will always be decentors, but here most People just take it in their stride.....I

just reading uk police are whining they Don t have the capacity...bullshit!! Just have your normal  foot/Bike controls be a little more  vigilant..!!

big/Middle Shops at least, can have for the first few days,Security firms, where Local shops Close together  they could Share the finances...Have the  Security staff

spending different flexible times around Shop Inside & outside entrances....

i mean ffs The Brits get confused between Common-sense & Rocket science....:dunno:

Because for whatever reason they have changed their minds. Possibly because the whole pandemic has been a very steep learning curve, with things changing daily. It's hardly a reason not to wear one is it? There are loads of things in history that previous governments have been proven wrong about in hindsight, it doesn't mean that we just listen to what was initially said does it?

And masks are not primarily to protect the wearer's, more if you are infected you are less likely to pass it on to others
