First teamers not involved.

Considering the season starts in just over two weeks and we only appear to have 2 pre season friendlies scheduled....is there a particular reason the following weren't involved today?

 

I would assume they will all be in that first squad and surely they need minutes.

Thomas

 

Do we have injuries?

I'd imagine it's something to do with the unique season we just had. The fact that they had a few months off mid-season and the fact that it's not been all that long since the season ended. Their match fitness levels are probably higher than they would usually be at this point in a normal pre-season.

Some of them went on holiday where they were told not to and were fined for going against club instructions, they likely aren’t playing because then it’s obvious they haven’t followed the correct quarantine protocols.

Someone else can put their neck on the line. I already said more than I wanted to, but I wanted to corroborate what has been said that:

 

- Head Physio chap of 20+ years has left club

- 6 players been fined due to unwise and unauthorised 'travel' 

- BR not a happy chappy.

 

This has all been said elsewhere and people cast doubt upon it. I'm just telling you its exactly what I've been told from excellent sources.

 

I wouldn't have said anything if others hadn't and I'd prefer not to add more.

Very sad to read about Dave Rennie leaving  ... and very concerning that people aren't getting on and the players not respecting BR.... I'm nervous for this season  ...

I don't get it though surely if you were upset with players and punishing them you would chuck them in to games like this with basically the youth team. 

 

Also the bloke on comms just said we are playing Cov at the weekend? I thought it was Sheff Wednesday? or we playing both?

Amartey, Fuchs, Chilwell, Maddison, Ricardo all injured/recovering.

 

Jakupovic third GK so wouldn't have played.

 

Only concern is the whereabouts of Thomas, Evans, Ndidi, James, Perez I would think

To be fair, at the start of pre-season only the US? Was in quarantine rules? well out of the places your likely to go on holiday anyway? Unless I'm missing something.

 

Fuchs would have gone to America but he's injured anyway, although may still have been asked to return on pre-season date. Spain was added to quarantine list at very short notice so wouldn't surprise me if that caught a few out but that was weeks ago, unless they stayed out there right up until the end of their break. If they did then they deserve everything they get? 

 

Most recent countries added to quarantine lists have only been added recently where most would already have been back.

Thomas was in the photos yesterday. 

 

Imagine with Evans missing the first 3 gives him time to get his fitness up.
