I'm not sure it's anything to worry about, they'll be getting fit at home, 45-60 mins in a low-intensity pre-season friendly is no different to some high intensity cardio workouts at home I wouldn't think, tactics aren't that important at this stage.

 

And all of that group bar Evans are staying here over the international break so they'll arrange more friendlies for them once isolation is over if that's true.

 

Rodgers doesn't appear very angry to me. We have these rumours every year. I remember that photo of Walsh, Shakespeare and Phillips stood on the other side of the pitch to Ranieri and Benetti on the pre-match warmup and everyone thought there had been a bust-up. We won the league...

Thomas probably has a loan deal organized already. Perhaps even at leuven as they supposedly need a left back

Yeah I'll not be amused if he goes there. Perhaps I'm being harsh but Leuven are in for a pasting in the top division this season, we could get him a loan move to some very good Chmpionship clubs but to be honest we will need him until at least Fuchs is back and we've bought a Chilwell replacement.

I think we are just holding him until our deals are done.  

 

The club need him here so that clubs dont gauge us on price because we dont have any options at lb. Once chilwell and his replacement are all sorted he will be gone.

With Covid, Europe, and various defensive injuries with an uncertain recovery timeline, we're going to need a bigger squad. Thomas is extra valuable because he can be named without taking up a squad place.

Surprised there wasn't more first team players involved today? New season is 2 weeks away. They can't get match fit in that time surely.

Not doubting that 6 players have been fined, but I think a more realistic possibility for their absence was another behind closed doors friendly that wasn't streamed or advertised. Danny Simpson put a photo on Instagram yesterday of a Leicester shirt with 17 on the back, so presumably he'd played in a match.

 

Also we have a habit of organising two matches in pre-season, sometimes at the same time, where we split the first team squad split two. Could be that has happened and the missing players played in the same match as Simpson.

Wait...what...Simo is back!!!!??? I thought he was no longer under contract with us but we've allowed him to continue to use our facilities!!?? Have I been living under a rock???

As I understand he's back doing fitness with us, played in a youth/development match yesterday. Kingy is also still training with us. So he's back but not back, back!

I don't know Dave well enough to know any current details but I have had a beer with Dave a couple of times in the past as we live in the same village, I know he has always had aspirations to run his own practice once he finishes his PHD and the younger lad was bought into the club with this in mind, I really hope this is a mutual thing as he is a top bloke but I always got the impression that modern football was not for him.

As I said before you can either believe it or not believe it, I’m not arsed either way. I don’t claim to be an all knowing ITK however I’ve still got friends/contacts in football and this is one of the things I’ve been told as gospel recently.

I was thinking that perhaps I was the only one who thought it possible that someone may want to leave after many years at one job for a new adventure.
