Half Time Scores:

Josh Knight (6.5) - Wycombe Wanderers 1-1 Norwich City

Matty James (6.5) - Barnsley 1-1 Millwall

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (6.0) - Luton Town 0-0 Sheffield Wed

Sam Hughes (6.7) - Burton Albion 0-0 Wimbledon

Darnell Johnson (6.4) - Wigan Athletic 0-1 Plymouth

Mitch Clark (7.5 + 1 Goal) - Port Vale 2-0 Oldham

Sounds like a good goal from Clark as well - left footed shot from outside the box into the bottom left corner

George Hirst (Still on the bench) - Rotherham United 0-1 Reading

I think I have said once or twice before Cardiff loan for Benko is pointless it’s nothing to do with forcing your way in either, Cardiff have a settled side Harris isn’t going to be dropping his Captain to help us get minutes in Benko’s legs.

Managers get loans for 2 reasons, they need them to play from the outset or need them as cover, Benko is there for cover that is all, where as KDH is wanted to play and almost build around Luton wanted to buy him, James also required to play for his experience.

Clark my man of the match
There were plenty of encouraging Port Vale performances but the stand-out for me was buccaneering full-back Mitch Clark. Not only did he cut in to score a fine first senior goal but his header off the line in the second period showed the defensive area of his game was spot on too. Loanee Clark is arguably too good for League Two and Vale fans should treasure every appearance of his third loan spell at the club.

Mitch Clark seems be doing quite well at Port Vale

No idea why we didn't loan him immediately back to them when we bought him. He played 40 games for them, joined us and spent 2 years in our u23s without a sniff of first team football, then went back on loan to them lol

Presumably because we wanted to assess his capabilities first hand, he was sent out on loan last season and would have had more playing time had the league 2 season not been brought to a premature end, so cant really blame the club for that.
