Trump lost his decades ago lol.

On a sad note, i was driving to an appointment over here in ontario this morning. Was on my way to my old city and on the side of a motorway was a parked up truck with a Trump 2020 flag. Ffs this is Canada you embarrassing knobcheeseEnd. By all means have an opinion but a flag in Ontario? Hopefully this was just a transplanted American showing their pride today. If not, i am ashamed to be Canadian lol

Would be hilarious if he had a Trump 2020 flag but realised he couldnt vote as was stuck in Canada today

The Covid response? His lies? Withdrawing from the Climate Accord? Cosying up to dictators? Shitting on historical allies? His lack of Presidential decorum? His refusal to condemn Right Wing nutters? His racism?

Dunno.

Not much to go on, hey!

I have seen comments suggesting that indications show that Trump is doing better in the swing states than expected. Can anyone (legitimately!) discredit these please...

Until the votes are counted it's merely speculation.

If you trust the polls, he's done.

The response is always:

”He says what he thinks”

”He puts America first”

”We need a businessman”

God I would be depressed if Trump gets another 4 years, god knows how the Americans that dont support him would feel. Would be shocked if it wasnt rigged tbh, even if he loses he probably wont stand down.

In an ideal world he is binned off and ends up in prison.

Hoping for the best. A tight race that's impossible to call. Watch our Federal Government de legitimize itself and crash and burn in the process. Best thing that could happen for the world and the citizens of the US. Only way I see to end the corrupt corporate government owned by our wealthy masters.

There are many of the corrupt political class who deserve prison or worse. They belong to one party. The "Uniparty". Bought and paid for by our corrupt corporate masters.

I was half playing devils advocate half curious to see the response. if you look at my post history I am pretty much left leaning but I just didn't know much about trumps actual polices bar the fact he has a dislike of migrants. It would be better if the media actually explained each candidates polices rather than making an elcetion an american idol competetion between bad orange man and god old joe. Even fox news is just as terrible if not worse they just scream socialism at anything from the otherside. I still refuse to believe the aversge american IQ is over 90. Even the presidential debate was childish. Screaming you like china you get money from china at each other while establishing very little in terms of policies. I would be very angry at both if I was american tbh.

Trump has done nothing but make the rich richer. Just like every other president as in Obama, Bush II, Clinton, Bush etc.

Trumps promises were just lies. Just like the rest. Take care of the top 20% and screw the rest.

Oddschecker has Biden shortening / Trump drifting. Trump out to 2/1 currently.

Obviously very early, polls still open for hours and hours.

Politicains summed up. False promises.

We are predicting that Donald Trump is going to win re-election. In our most recent battleground polls in the 6 states of Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, and Ohio he is up by over 2% in all but Michigan (for those results scroll to the end of this article).

But what’s more interesting than our prediction that he will win, and why we are writing this article, is that all of our polls until last week had Trump losing by similar margins to what you have probably seen in the news.

What caused this change? It had little to do with either team’s campaigning because we can still easily conduct a poll that has Biden up by a large margin. Instead, it was our methodology that changed. We still used similar tactics that helped us accurately predict every battleground state in 2016: Nearly the same questionnaire design, random samples of likely and newly registered voters, no live agents, etc… But otherwise, we pretty much threw out the book of traditional assumptions made about data sampling. We decided to question everything as we started our field program.

I don't see the UK as any different from the US in that respect. Besides the fact that you guys have healthcare for all and a better safety/welfare net for the poor. I know that your government is doing its best to destroy those programs too. Incrementalism. I really hope your citizens can take back your government.

Well.. these are not in disagreement really.

Well, it seems like your first post called the accuracy of polls into question, your second seemed to be making a point based on them.

Or am I missing something?

All politicains. Comservatives said we would be better out the eu yet haven't set up a decent trade deal with enyone else. And since we left my food bill has gone through the roof everythings getting more expensive. I do think english media is better at being a bit more non biased though.

Well had you read it it'd talk about methodology that led to the miss in 2016 and how they attempted to redress it. So my comments were never about poll writ large. Regardless I'm more providing additional context for the interested, not proselytizing like many in this thread.

Here's some more context for you:

To be honest ballot boxes have been stuffed and elections have been altered for as long as they've been having elections.

This won't be decided today or tomorrow. It will be decided by every citizens interaction that is any way is touched by government. The power of de legitimization. Shunning the authorities. Declining jury duty. Stop paying taxes in groups. Banding together and fighting (non violently) percieved illegitimate authority. This is not going away overnight and has been brewing for decades.

Listen, you can cheerlead as much as you like - our conversation is not impactful on the end results. I hopped in and reread the last five pages, and saw a conversation which was not really reflective of what I see on the ground. Biden is still favorite to win but it's going to be far closer than many here seem to think. My instinct is that Trump pulls it out.
