He fired four times through a toilet door indiscriminately, without even checking where his girlfriend was. He served eight and half years after initially only getting five years. I think he got off lightly and that was mainly because of who he was.

Lent is very important of course, but I think the British struggle with the concept of consuming less and giving something up. Can't do without the slop for a few weeks!

That would take the top rate of tax for Washington earners to 47% (37% federal + 9.9% State), or the same as people in Australia pay for earnings over AU$190k.  The 37% band starts at US$640k. and then will jump to 47% for US$1M and more.
