Simon Jordan being portrayed as some sort of oracle is odd. He was an average football club owner who holds strident yet contradictory views. Why does he get so much attention?

Some posters on here just think you can *stop* crosses coming in. It’s a bit like saying we should stop the opposition from shooting.

Not to say sometimes players could make a better attempt in certain instances but it just shows a lack of understanding - if a player is always so tight the opposing player can’t cross there’s a lot of space behind them.

The aim should be to make it difficult to cross with any accuracy so that they lose the ball, either by running themselves into a dead end or making a poor cross.

Is it wrong, when seeing balaclava wearing goons on e-bikes pulling wheelies on public roads, to wish that they fall off and smash their heads on the tarmac?

We don't want more pot holes

I preferred it when it was grown men riding round the estates on tiny motorcycles, like a bear in a Russian circus

A worthy reminder in these times.

The Mower by Philip Larkin

The mower stalled, twice; kneeling, I found

A hedgehog jammed up against the blades,

Killed. It had been in the long grass.

I had seen it before, and even fed it, once.

Now I had mauled its unobtrusive world

Unmendably. Burial was no help:

Next morning I got up and it did not.

The first day after a death, the new absence

Is always the same; we should be careful

Of each other, we should be kind

While there is still time.

Is it possible that Ian Huntley is not dead and was released by the authorities who didnt want to cause outrage and endanger him?

Why on earth would anyone do that?  For what possible benefit?

I think there may be something in this and that he’s shacked up in a safe house somewhere with Adolf Hitler and Elvis Presley

Penalties in front of Family Stand are always missed.

Penalties in front of the Kop always go in (Maddison aside).

This feels very true.

What about Iain Hume’s penalty miss vs Sheffield Wednesday that sent us down to League One?
