I never cease to be amazed by the number of people that are prepared to drive their (often very nice, new and expensive) cars into flood water.

Obviously not captured by the Facebook algorithm that would show them countless videos of folk doing this and enduring a very expensive fail

Coupled with people not grasping you need to drive slow and steady through flood water not pedal to the floor

There were some where the water was up to the windscreen and others where the car started to float away. I don't know how you can look at a quite a big expanse of water without any idea of how deep it gets and go 'this'll be FINE!'

Can’t comment on the GN chat but those videos coming out of Bondi are frightening. Know people who live nearby, and it was only a couple of weeks ago we opted to go to Manly over Bondi as Bondi is very cliched

And as for that bloke who tackled the gunman. I sincerely hope he’s granted whatever he wants or needs from the Australian government. Balls of steel 🫡

I love it when people in the Peugeot 107 type box car then try and go through flood water. I'm just expecting them to float away

I live in the driest part of Europe and have just received a government flooding warning alert on my phone.

The rain is welcome but hopefully we will avoid any flooding, I think the government are being particularly cautious since the tragedy in Valencia last year.

Definitely changing times though

Stay safe, Deb.

Unfortunately, yes, times are changing.

It goes against intuition, but dry areas are prone to flooding because in heavy rain the hardened ground doesn't soak it up.

Why are Lime Scooters a proper thing throughout the UK?

It’s ridiculous really. All this push for going green and you’ve got all these cities throughout the world that have completely embraced them and they work a treat.

Typical of the UK really

Evri a pile of smelly dog shit of a company. Everytime they fail to deliver as promised and then add 3 or more days to the eta of when they might feel like delivering your package.

They used to be Hermes but earned a reputation so bad they had to rebrand unfortunately they are as bad if not worse now.

Assume you meant why aren't they?

There's something weird about the UK where things that are normal elsewhere don't seem to take off. Probably a very Americanised political environment doesn't help but also something about the British is just different - look at the state of us in benidorm for example. We seem to revel in being idiotic.

My Evri drivers are great, but they've been doing it a long time so get the better pay rate. Although, with the recent price increase I've not used then as much of late.

The worst I've had recently had been Amazon. My account has a safe place delivery instruction but three days running my parcels were on the door step or dropped in the front garden. I asked one who was just leaving after dumping my parcel on the door step why he'd not followed the safe place instructions and he was very rude and abusive.

I just keep complaining each time, they have refunded me for a couple of items, by way of apology.

I had assumed not, but someone at my work did get paid out when he trashed his BMW doing something that sounds very much like what we're talking about

As per the TV programme last night sounds like an awful company to work for. At one warehouse they had to walk 300 yards in all weathers just to use the loo. The yard outside where they load their vehicles was just rough land totally unsuitable for pushing trollies on. Plus they changed the parcel sizes so that more of them are considered small.
