Having looked at it again, agree it Mavididi mainly at fault for their equaliser.

But that miss showcases Thomas' weakness. All he has to do is head the ball back across the goal and he scores. Lack of footballing brain and handling pressure situations - he has the potential to be a solid FB, offers creativity and have said before he has a cultured left foot but his lack of nous and physicality hold him back.

Thomas will run and work hard but his lack of nous and calm under pressure tells you that he's playing at a league higher than his comfort zone. Premiership is 2 levels higher. And it's not his fault that he's still being picked for games.

I genuinely thought it was one of his better performances yesterday. Whilst he should've scored, he did what he has often struggled with well enough.

Considering he made 6 key passes (according to sofascore) in just 55 minutes, hit the post and provided the throw for Nelson's chance against the bar, he was certainly a big reason for our second half performance.

I know we're respondent, but let's recognise when he does things well and not only focus on his obvious flaws.

Ultimately his lack of concentration has cost us points, again.

It's just not that black and white, nor can he be singled out as the only culprit.

As I say, his flaws are obvious, but pretending he's got no qualities or handwaving them away is just petty.

Of course it isn't. But if he does his job then we win the game.

He's cost us far too many points this season with his lack of defensive awareness and concentration.

I don't care that he nearly scored or that he put in a long throw that we nearly scored from. Ultimately, he had no idea that Ben Wilmot was behind him because he's got the concentration levels of a 2 year old.

He's cost us points, yet again.

Just trying to balance it out.

You could easily apportion some blame to the goalkeeper, no-one stopping the cross and leaving Thomas alone to mark two players (who were Okoli and Mav tracking?). Not to mention the goal apparently shouldn't have stood as Cisse knocks it on for Wilmot in offside position.

Thomas is not great defensively, so we should set up to counter his weaknesses. He has quality going forward, which he showed. So here's hopping Rowett recognises this and finally adresses it.

Like a lot of them, when we have the ball he often looks absolutely fine.

He gets forward and puts in good crosses. He looks like a decent old fashioned full back.

When he has to defend and we are under pressure though, I honestly think one of us off here would defend as well as he does.

As ****ing shit as he's undeniably been, I can't help but love that as a Syston lad his best performances for us were Forest and Derby 😂

F.A Cup Final , and Lliverpool against Salah, the Syston Sizzler took a battering after these games

I don't even know what a key pass is. Nor does Luke. He's shit. Not his fault we've given him a 4 year contact but the thought of him being our first choice left back for that time makes me pretty despondent

He will be targeted again tonight unfortunately, massive weak link recognised by all opposing teams. Mind you it doesn’t help having a winger that’s allergic to tracking back in Mavididi.

It's the final pass leading to a shot, i.e. he created six chances.

This is the main reason.  We've been awful at defending crosses for a long time now and yet a goal comes in from a cross it's all Thomas' fault.  How about close it down and stop the cross from coming in??

He could have done bette for the Stoke goal but he was overloaded and Mavidi did **** all to track his man.

The problem with Thomas is almost everything come down his side because he's such a poor 1 v 1 defender and given we're abysmal aerially it costs us about a goal a game. The goal at Millwall was the worst defending I've ever seen from a professional.

Very good today.

Blocked crosses well, stayed tight to the winger, got forward often and didn't seem to be beaten in the air much. Don't remember any mistakes he made or times where I thought he was out of position or being exposed.
