Not withstanding last season, I think the squad mentality, depth and class of the current squad would hopefully not have an impact on the fallaway this year that we had last year.

I cant see us winning it but the next best (crucial) thing for the club is a place in the CL positions. I feel that there are a lot of points condensed within the top 10 positions at the minute which means that we need to keep winning basically or keep to form that we have created. It is exciting that we have now started to correct the issue of winning at the KP along with having the best away record in the leugue.

What are peoples thoughts on this. Will we fall away again for reasons I've not mentioned or will they finish Top 4 because of what I have mentioned above and firmly believe in myself. Thoughts on a postcard.

I love the europa leauge, I love the fact you can give time for the squad and still win games. I love the fact you (in a no covid world) get to go to places like Athens, braga and Prague. And I love playing thurday nights so you can sink a few beers it's a great lead In to weekend.

Much rather that than getting beat by sides with a disgusting embarrassment of players and finances like PSG and Bayern Munich and real Madrid.

Given the choice as a fan I'd rather finish 5th than 4th.

It’s honestly too early to say. There will be bumps in the road. The league is simply too close to rule many teams out of it.

I feel like I said this 10 weeks ago but we are just as likely to win the league as we are to finish 10th. Let’s see how the next month shapes up

Man C and Liverpool will get in top 4 no question.

I think we have as good a chance if not better than Man U, Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal.

That's about where I stand, too....

- Man City & Liverpool more likely to be in Top 4 than us

- Man Utd & Spurs about the same chance as us

- Everton, Southampton, Chelsea, Arsenal & West Ham less chance than us (and possibly in that order)

If we finish above Spurs and Everton, I reckon we make it.

I'm wondering what would happen if I created a 'top 6 - yay or nay' thread for us lol

Haha. I kind of figured that after last season that that wouldn't be any fun for the fans as a target.

Man united finish in there for sure.  Battle for 4th could be very tasty come May.

If we win the league we are automatic top seeds. So get a draw like last time which was on the easy side. Likewise if we qualify by winning the EL, we are top seeds.

I'd be interested to know how well we would need to do in the EL to get our coefficient up to be likely 3rd or 2nd seeds. If we qualify by finishing 2nd-4th we will get a tough draw and have to hope for Russian or portuguese champions as top seeds.

We are currently 49th in the UEFA coefficient, we need to be top 16 to get pot 2 and top 24 to guarantee pot 3 otherwise we will probably get a stinker of a draw and finish bottom.

I think even if we get to the final of EL our coefficient would still put us pot 4. There is an argument that another EL campaign would be more beneficial than getting a CL spanking, but that's loser talk. Anyway we'll win the League and the EL so we'll be laughing.

I think maybe he's wondering if you missed the poll from earlier today...

We are stronger this season and I would be gutted if we ended up outside the top 4. Given our form, the way the players are being used and playing the way they are there is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't.

The only thing that will stop us is injury to Vardy. As I don’t care what anyone says atm we have fvck all options in the forward line if he’s out for any length of time. I think we have decent back in the other positions. The other thing would be dropping points against shit sides especially at home. For example I’d look at games against West Brom and Sheffield Utd coming up. Last season towards the end we dropped points against these sort of sides and as the league is so tight we can’t afford to.

We're getting a tad ahead of ourselves again, we've been brilliant recently but we've got a lot of games coming thick and fast. We've got five games before European football starts again, that's when the squad will be properly tested, it would be nice if we could take 10 or 11 points from those games out of 15, it would give us a heck of a chance.

I think it will be out of us, Spurs and Everton for 4th. If we can avoid injuries to key players and get the squad rotation right for the Cup competitions, I think we'll get 4th.

But the key thing is, would we get beat? Would be nice to see how it is to play with the big boys and tbh i dont see us being embarresed by any club. Hopes are high for me, young padawan.
