Has anyone started/completed any projects lately. Hearing of loads of people making the most of time off work or being around more.

I’m building a garden room for my partner so she can work from and work around the kids school hours.

anything you guys have done or are looking to do?

I'm getting into detailing trying to restore my wife's 10 year old car to it's former glory for no other reason than I'm bored.

Done loads of decontamination on the paint work, touched up the stone chips etc, and deep cleaned the interior and engine bay.

Machine polish, wax, ceramic coated it, and it's looking pretty damn good now if I do say so myself.

Just the alloys to tackle next and it'll be good as new

Projects? I can count on one hand the full weekends I have had off since lockdown began in March - it's really not a good time to be working in education:nono:. Saying that everything is so busy and frantic I don't have time to dwell on what is happening in the world or miss people too much which I think is a good thing right now. Whilst I am exhausted I wouldn't swap it with being on furlough, having hours on end to worry about whether I will still have a job to pay the bills. If I did have time to devote to a project right now, I would love to tackle the garden. It was already landscaped when we moved here, but there's still some borders which really don't have anything going on in them, and I would love to introduce some new plants to encourage more wildlife to visit.

Did my garden last lockdown although I did the design and some prep work I had people in to do the majority.

That's very good work.

Iirc, didn't you mention on here that you work on construction projects or similar in your job in the past?

Turned my living room that wasn’t being used into a cinema room. Huge TV on the wall, great surround sound system and chairs that have well and truly knackered my back that I definitely don’t want rid of after 6 months.

Ended up, new floor, new stair case with oak rails and newels and glass balustrades,  radiator, new landing floor, walls cladded and painted, under stairs cupboards, new doors, new ceiling, lights and osmo oiled. Loved doing it though,

Looks decent mate. I hate to break it to you but I have a very similar carpet on my stairs and it wears down over time.

I manage/have managed several projects for a living and have worked for several large financial institutions.

My advice is plan well and give yourself lots of buffer. :D

Some excellent content in here. Love seeing people’s home/garden/auto improvements

I put a mirror up in our bedroom. Fell down 2 weeks later with a hole in the wall from it. I have polyfillered the hole and the mirror is propped up against the wall now.

DIY is not my strong point.
