filbertway Posted 14 April 2021 Share Posted 14 April 2021 Very little brain activity to be found here Imagine being proven wrong but just ignoring it and doubling down. Pretty embarrassing.

Yes, Grealish is an utter twat also which is possibly why Southgate is reluctant to pick him also at times? The trouble for Maddison is, is that Grealish is twice the player he is, so if he'd got half a brain he'd keep his head down 😁 Your issue with Maddison appears to be much deeper than this. We all, as supporters felt let down by the actions of the five players involved last week. They have all been handed a punishment for their actions and now we move on. Jack Grealish is a very good player, as is James Maddison. There is not a single metric you can measure them on which says Grealish is twice the player Maddison. This, as far as I am aware is Maddison’s first disciplinary issue since he’s arrived at the club - I’m not having going to a casino in your free time as an issue. Let it go mate, he’s produced many more great moments for us than he has let us down and he will certainly have many more great moments in the seasons to come. 4

But the England medical staff – which I can understand, as he had flu and they didn’t want that to spread to his teammates – decided it’s best for him to leave the camp. So he leaves, gets some tablets with our guys at the club, then he feels better. “He watched the game at home on his own on the Friday and then goes out at half-time – probably he’ll make better decisions in his life but he went to a casino on his own to sit and watch the second half by a poker table. The suggestions are he left England purposelessly and then goes to a casino but that’s totally not the case at all. But his eyes have been opened now to the wider world in terms of what he did. He knows in hindsight he’s made a mistake.” Thanks for that, totally different from what I'd read. Sad though that his eyes didn't remain 'opened' as they put it.

The fact that he's sitting round the table with his hood up? Do all punters do that? We’re jumping on him for having his hood up now? 1

Perhaps just didn't want to be recognised 🤣. Anyway, as other posters have rightly commented, what's done is done now and I think Rodgers, being in an unenviable position, dealt with it as well as he could do. Rob Tanner would not continually post articles including him if it wasn't true. He'd have been challenged by the club and player quite quickly!!
