“The kid went away with the international team and took ill while he was away. He wanted to stay and hopefully be ready for the second game. But the England medical staff – which I can understand, as he had flu and they didn’t want that to spread to his teammates – decided it’s best for him to leave the camp. So he leaves, gets some tablets with our guys at the club, then he feels better.

“He watched the game at home on his own on the Friday and then goes out at half-time – probably he’ll make better decisions in his life but he went to a casino on his own to sit and watch the second half by a poker table. The suggestions are he left England purposelessly and then goes to a casino but that’s totally not the case at all. But his eyes have been opened now to the wider world in terms of what he did. He knows in hindsight he’s made a mistake.”

Thanks for that, totally different from what I'd read. Sad though that  his eyes didn't remain 'opened' as they put it.

Don't think my boss would have seen it that way. A recovery of Lazarus proportions? What a wimp. The fact that he's sitting round the table with his hood up? Do all punters do that?

We’re jumping on him for having his hood up now?

🤣 no, I meant that normally in a no doubt centrally heated place of entertainment it seems odd to sit with your hood up or perhaps wear a hat and scarf? Perhaps just didn't want to be recognised 🤣. Anyway, as other posters have rightly commented, what's done is done now and I think Rodgers, being in an unenviable position, dealt with it as well as he could do.

Nothing been confirmed about Wes Morgan being there btw (I don't think anyway), gonna give him the benefit of the doubt until so!

Rob Tanner would not continually post articles including him if it wasn't true. He'd have been challenged by the club and player quite quickly!!
