I have deep lying concerns about Brendan and him being given the opportunity to undertake a refresh/rebuild/reset of the squad. We have shown with clever recruitment that we can challenge and disrupt the top six

as others have alluded we shouldn’t be complacent with the attitude, he should get the summer and if it doesn’t improve he will be gone by Christmas, as this could be disastrous for the club.

However I have no doubt the summer plans will have been discussed in great detail, where we need to strengthen, who needs to move on and the main targets and as long as those align with our recruitment strategy and scouting analysis which has served us well to date then I am sure the powers at be within the club know if retaining Brendan is the right direction of travel.

I don’t want us to lose games of football, what I do want is at times when the wheels are wobbling, that the manager grabs these issues by the scruff of the neck and comes up with plans to get us out of poor form. In fairness the last 2 results have been a shot in the arm and hopefully a sign of things to come.

So in summary, I hope the leaders of our club make the correct decisions for the future of our club based on their belief of what will bring continued and sustained success. If that includes Brendan then so be it as they are far closer and have the insight to his plans than any of us on here do. I back the owners to make the right decision based on what they see/hear on a daily basis.

Things have changed at the club though. most fans will regard this season as a poor season and quite rightly so. This has nothing to do with entitlement, we simply have great owners who have moved the club up to another level. The past is exactly that the past. Even when we got most of the injured players back it was still turgid football and naïve defending. The money the owners have put in to this club deserves a better return for them and us alike.

We're 9th, could finish 8th and have about the 8th biggest budget. We're exactly where our budget dictates we probably should be.

Yeah the football has been boring, Rodgers is his own worst enemy and has many faults. But let's not kid ourselves we're well off where we should be based on our spending, we aren't.

Wow we beat the 2 worst teams in the league. All hail Lord Brendan the greatest manager in history….

He IS the full time manager with the highest top tier win percentage in your history though.

Or you can ignore facts, the last 2 games have been against teams who lose 2 out of 3 of their league games.

They are both, by a distance, the worst teams in the league.

Making our terrible form look slightly more respectable.

@Babylon nailed it, if we get 8th, which is quite possible now, we finish where our budget would suggest we should. So a meh season but not a shocking position even if the football has been unremarkable

All our goals came from a style Rodgers doesnt like, counter and/or running forward with the ball.  Interesting.

This has us 14th biggest spenders over the past 5 seasons. So by that metric we are well above where we should be.

Clubs like Everton, Villa, Wolves and even Brighton have out spent us over the last five seasons.

We have the 8th biggest turnover, whether we spend it on transfers or wages really doesn't matter does it. For a successful team which we have been, we've rewarded excellent players who we'd got who'd proven to do well here, as opposed to some of the clubs with less turnover trying to chase us.

I actually think we have seen the best and worst of him in the last two games (obviously we have to take the opposition into account). The frailties are obvious i.e.set piece defending and our work without the ball. However, when it goes right we are capable of playing some very good football and he has to take some credit for that.

Looking at the league table over the whole season (almost). We have scored more goals than everyone outside the European places, and more than Arsenal, the same as Man Utd and only a couple less than West Ham.

From a defensive point of view, it’s not as good, with us 12th for goals conceded- if we sort that corner problem out and concede, let’s say 1/2 the goals we have from corners and we are in the top 7.

Most agree it’s been a disappointing season, but to potentially finish 8th, with the amount of injuries we’ve had, the European semifinal and the weekend teams we’ve put out in the league across the journey is quite amazing.

We’ve also had numerous shocking refereeing decisions go against us.

If we can, and it’s a big if, sort out the set pieces we would easily be in with a shout of the European places again. We’re not that far behind.

Out of interest, I haven’t seen that data, and presuming the big 6 take the 1-6 roles, who is 7th? West Ham? And how much bigger is our turnover than 9th, 10th etc.

Basically if your in the Rodgers out camp and we lose you critisize the manager, if we win you critisize the opposition.

We played some very good football yesterday. I have to say that. However, Watford are absolutely atrocious and we cannot ignore that.

Yeah I think West Ham are slightly ahead of us, we tend to pull in more than the rest because of where we finish in the league, qualifying for Europe, getting to the knockout stages etc and winning things.

I think we're about £20-30m than a cluster of teams below us but it's obviously quite tight as our stadium capacity is average, and our commercial revenue taken quite a while to increase. Made recent significant gains on that though.

Thanks Ric, interesting reading and shows why the stadium expansion is so important if we want to not only move away from 9th, but also close the gap between us and the top 7 clubs.

...taking all this into consideration, are you saying attaining top 6 and above, is not half the fanbase being entitled or deluded!!!

Can you find a single post where i’ve factually stated I want us to lose)

Thing is you won’t so stop talking rubbish.

I never want us to lose, I just want us to do well. I’m of the opinion that we can do better than we have been. Its not a crime and its not silly either.

If anything ‘whacking’ the 2 relegated teams with the pressure off proves that point. At the minute we have a manager that can only do a decent job when there is next to no pressure.

It's going through a fairly mediocre phase albeit has excellence at the top. The fact we're now likely to finish 8th is a pretty bad reflection on this league but like I say, means Europe is still attainable.

We have been very poor for large parts of this season and although I have my doubts about the manager going forward, I think the club would find it very difficult to justify sacking a manager in the court of public opinion if we end up finishing 8th and therefore, they will not even begin to entertain the idea of it. It would be seen as Ranieri round two, and in some respects it would be worse because we have comfortably survived, whereas under Ranieri we looked to hurtling towards the championship. As I've said, the club have to be seen to do be addressing the issues that we've had this season, set piece defending being the obvious one. I don't care if it embarrasses them, but they should make a big deal of appointing a recognised and respected set piece coach.

People so overate managers , they come and go , if we advertised for a new manager tomorrow , there would be a queue round the King Power. We won yesterday , not because of Rodgers but through some atrocious defending and quick thinking from the players .
