Chelmofox Posted 16 March 2022 Posted 16 March 2022 I think that’s 6 straight defeats for Brighton with 1 goal scored. Jeeze. 1
fleshdaddy Posted 16 March 2022 Posted 16 March 2022 Would love Liverpool to stick a couple more past them. Arsenal are decent, nothing more…what was it Pearson said, “delusions of grandeur”? Their fans think they are a lot better than they actually are. 4

Shame we turned up just to be rolled over!! 3
Vacamion Posted 16 March 2022 Posted 16 March 2022 It is apparent from the speed at which the ball is mostly correctly moved on, and the intensity of the play, as well as their recent results and performances against us, that both Arsenal and Liverpool are a bit ahead of us this season. That’s nothing to be ashamed of. We performed miracles being up there for as long as we were last season and the season before. But suggestions of us competing with the likes of these to hit the top 4 seem a bit distant just now. 1

Guest Col city fan Posted 16 March 2022 Posted 16 March 2022 Arsenal have still got miles to go to get anywhere near the top two

What if Arsenal manage to get a good striker in the summer, plus a long term replacement for Xhaka, do you still expect to be close to them? People like to shit on Arsenal because they’ve been shit for so long, but it’s clear as day this is the most potential they’ve had in many years. The likes of Saka, Martinelli, Odegaard & Smith-Rowe are only going to get better.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 16 March 2022 Posted 16 March 2022 I think arsenal will comfortably finish ahead of us next season, even when they have European football and we don't. Hope I'm wrong. They'll still be a mile off the front 2 though.

Liverpool are streets ahead of everyone other then Man City. Don't even need to add players, just have them fit and we have a better XI and much better squad. What they have got is a set of quality young attacking players in Saka, Smith-Rowe, Martinelli and Odegaard and we lack the same number of quality options they have in that regard. But rest of the squad, we are miles ahead. If Granit Xhaka is your first choice, you can't be that good 1
Supergray22 Posted 16 March 2022 Posted 16 March 2022 Arsenal I find as a club irritating. However in that first half they were very good playing with an intensity and composure that Liverpool struggled to match. They were first to the ball on most occasions which is saying something against Liverpool. Martinelli in particular really shone. To say otherwise isn’t fair even if we would like it to be the case. Second half Liverpool moved up a gear and took their goals ruthlessly and Arsenal visibly lost impetus. As much as I love our club we have rarely played with that level of intensity precision and togetherness that Arsenal showed in the first half if at all this season. I don’t think there is any great difference in the quality of our squad compared to theirs we just need to get ourselves back truly firing on all cylinders again. Easier done with a fully fit squad. 2
