I mean it’s valued at £180k

Let’s get a FT consortium together to buy the land and turn the safehouse thread in to a reality.

I haven't seem them for a while but I'm pretty sure the leaked plan we had on here ages ago didn't include that land anyway.

Perhaps their company rules mean they have to put it out to tender to get the best price.

If someone did buy it to build housing or flats on then they would have a good choice of road names to go with. Vardy Avenue, Schmeichel Street, might need to go something fancy like Morgan Boulevard to get Wes in though as i guess there might be most variations on Morgan Road, Close etc already.

This is very cheap.... it could be developed in to hospital worker accommodation.... I looked at a project off upperton road and they wanted nearly £1mill for a much smaller footprint

I’m no property guru, but even if they did buy this plot there is still land owned by someone else in between this site and the KP - which seems to limit what it could be used for.

There are a few different plots between there and the ground by the looks of it, but that shouldn't limit the usage unless there are any particularly covenants over the land. There are still adequate rights from the road etc. But yes, if they were looking for direct access from the stadium through to that land and away from Raw Dykes Road then that would seemingly require that additional land to acquired/right to be granted over that.

Rest assured it will be a sight more than 180k .Good site for flats 3/4 stories maybe 60 or so probably around £3 mill. The block you can see just further down aylestone rd is I think 24 flats 3 storey on around half the size plot.

Happy to work on budget with likeminded investors.

The leaked plan that was out of date when posted didn't include that plot. I'd guess it's change quite a bit since.

Maybe the delay is related to buying this plot.

I don't know if this has gone ahead yet but that would provide a better plot for housing.

https://www.business-live.co.uk/retail-consumer/british-gas-planning-leicester-office-17303333

British Gas owner Centrica has told staff at an inner city service centre that they could be relocated.

The utility giant – which previously announced it was cutting its head count by 1,500-2,000 this year – said no redundancies were planned as part of the plan to move staff from Aylestone Road, Leicester, to offices just outside the city.

A spokeswoman said: “Last month we spoke to a team of colleagues in customer services in Leicester, Aylestone Road, to let them know our plans to consolidate that team into our Spinneyside office [at Grove Park, near junction 21 of the M1].

“We will be updating our people in Leicester in 2020 and there is nothing to confirm until then and no decisions have been made.

“We always tell our people first when there are any changes that impact them.”

She said there were around 400 people working at the Aylestone Road site, in British Gas customer service teams.

The site is owned by National Grid.

Earlier this year multi-million pound plans were revealed to regenerate at least some of the brown field site which, until 2016, was also home to two big gasometers.

Just to recap, do we know that all of the land edged in red is now legally owned by King Power?

Edit: looking at it again I assume it can't be unless KP own the land the Holiday Inn Express is occupying.

As of the latest planning for the statue this is the one king power own (faint blue line). I imagine the Holiday Inn was just included for convenience sake on a concept drawing.DD5E4250-9B62-437D-B7A2-AC9F4030AF6E.thumb.jpeg.23901c5e0b10819ba371d2b35b426ac2.jpeg

I expect they are trying to drum up some competition for the land.

Yeah I imagine we have offered considerably less than they think it’s worth and they are testing the market and our resolve.
