Yes

Commentator wasn't saying his name then as soon as I posted it he said Liam Delap. Sods law.

Looks a player, not in the tiki taka mould though. Reminds me of Chris Wood.

Still not naming a striker in the squad. Amani Richards left Arsenal because they were clogging up the U18's and U23's and now we have 3 strikers for our U18's in Kian Pennant, Chris Popov and Richards and zero in the U23's.

Just get one of them in the U23's, it's bizarre.

Agreed, but perhaps none of them have shown they're quite ready yet? Popov would seem like the obvious one to promote though, especially now we're out of the Cup.

Do we have a striker on the bench? Maswanhise is lost.

....holding the ball up and bringing in support, is what we need him to do, but he would rather a ball to run on to, than play with his back to goal!!!

He does need service and that would come from Braybrooke or Ewing, we just have not got enough support upfront to make their backline do some work.

The latter is how he plays though, he is a quick winger not a striker for holding the ball up

Kian Pennant is often 1st choice for England U18's, Popov has about 20 goals for the U18's this season, its about pushing them as soon as possible to make the steps up.

Ben Nelson has looked much more comfortable on the right side of a back 4

The whole defence seems to have looked better in a back 4 with players in their actual positions

That was some graft, well done lads.

The defence were obviously the standout performers, Nelson, Brunt, Flynn and Wormleighton were individually and collectively very good. Nelson has had a fairly poor few months by his standards and I did wonder if him not getting any 1st team minutes despite being so close to for many games had effected him but as @moore_94 pointed out a few weeks back, he's a back 4 centre half and in a back 3 he's nowhere near the same player which is yet more baffling why they kept playing it.

Wormleighton impresses me every time I see him, love his quiet aggression, think he's the one out of all of these that could just progress nicely and make the grade.

Tough night for the midfielders and make shift attackers. Braybrooke wasn't at his best, nor was Wanya Marca and Leshabela I don't know why we are bothering with him, absolutely coasting at U23 level and needs to be released if he can't get a loan move that works out for him.

Ewing was probably the better of the midfielders tonight, won the ball well but frustratingly there were 2 occasions he'd opened the pitch up only to undercook or overcook a simple pass that could have led to a decent attack.

Great battle though, this Man City team is ridiculous.
