Isn't this a bit of a none argument aren't we just talking about 2 players the rest of the U23s can be available for the opportunity against Randers

No matter what happens with the main team and if the season doesn't amount to anything, the youngsters in the academy are absolutely flourishing. A category one academy absolutely full to the brim with fantastic talent, we're set for a while in terms of youth graduates coming through - feels like the start of something a little bit special! Can just see in 2-3 year's time our main squad having quite a few homegrown grads.

Brilliant news regarding the 15 new deals though, hope some of them can get some championship loans next season straight away

The old adage is you'll never win anything with kids, but having these lads coming through could well make the upcoming rebuild a bit easier than it otherwise would have been.

Who are the lads playing in the Youth Cup on Thursday? Shame it's come on the same day as the Randers game. Would have been an ideal test and a good opportunity to rest 1st teamers.

Any of you worried Alves isn't amongst those, he's not yet 17 despite what they said on the commentary last night. However, there's a long term contract already lined up (3 years is the max until he's 18 and then a bigger one to follow).

The club will not let him get snapped up

Did he not turn 17 about 3 weeks ago?

so? winning those things are nice but they don't matter, players becoming first team regulars does

.. it is a journey they are taking together, they will want to contest the cup game!!!

Plenty of time for bench occupation, let them have the cup.

Nelson, Braybrooke and Alves its not like I'm talking about gutting the entire team, Braybrooke rarely plays for the U18s anyway

You’re talking about gutting their best players😂 there’s a reason none of them are even 18 yet and are playing up at 23s level - with ease.

Just take the older lads who can’t play in the under 18’s like Brunt, Flynn, Ewing, Fitzhugh and Lashebela. Give them a go and leave the younger lads to play in the youth cup.

Unsure wether Leshabela is to old to be on the B list? @moore_94 Brunt can’t play 100% Flynn, Ewing and Fitzhugh may be involved tho

Nelson and Braybrooke are already in the U23s and don't play for the U18s Alves is the only one, if the rest can't cope they aren't that good then are they?

But they're both eligible for the u18s, so it makes sense that they'd want them available for what could be the u18s biggest game of the season thus far, no? Even if they don't typically play for the u18s because they're preoccupied with higher age groups, it doesnt mean that they're not still a part of the squad as well when needed.

Surely its better to put out the best side we possibly can...

they may be eligible but they don't play meaning we aren't weakening the side by taking them with the first team are we? Also how fair is it to parachute Braybrooke in now to the lads that got them this far? The club have already promoted them past that level. People are making far too big of a deal over the F.A. youth cup, its really not that important its a nice bonus nothing more.

The job of the academy is to produce players for the first team or to sell, that's it

Yeah Leshabela is too old

Like you mention Brunt can't be on the list either, and neither can any of the other players who joined us this season

A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 2000 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA, or a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year. Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption.

so Nelson, Braybrooke, Alves, Ewing, Maswanhise & Madivadua are all available? Any others?

Ben Nelson, Sammy Braybrooke and Will Alves all started in the last few rounds. They're not just being 'parachuted in' now that we're in the advanced stages of the cup.

Kids like winning things. Encouraging a competitive environment and showing that we've got the best academy in the country by winning the FA youth cup will do wonders for both attracting and retaining talent that we can then progress to the first team.

they prefer playing for the senior team more and seeing lots of players do that will do more for recruitment then winning a youth cup will you are deluded if you think otherwise, players care more about a pathway to the first team then youth trophies

Thankfully they can be added onto the B List at any time during the season :)

Each club is entitled to register an unlimited number of players on List B during the season. The list must be submitted by no later than 24.00CET on the day before the match in question.

With all due respect, this is the fa youth cup, not the Leicestershire youth trophy

I bet you every senior player who has won it remembers the day in detail.  I guarantee all the players who have been involved in getting the U18 this far will prefer to play at OT than ten minutes in a meaningless game at randers when the tie is won.  You’re just wrong but it’s all about opinions apparently!

Nelson, Alves and Braybrooke all play in the FA Youth Cup and the PL Cup, they don't play U18 league games.

.....players come out and say it over and over, they like to pick up trophies!!!

They are not going to say, at the end of their career, "... do you remember the night we sat on the bench against Randers and got 10 minutes"!!!

They have started a trip together, it is about seeing it though. If you ask any of them, right now, I would be surprised if  1 (one) of them would say I want to miss the cup game.
