Depends if they were guaranteed to play or not. They'd all rather play the 5th round of the Youth Cup than sit on the bench and not get on bit if they were offered the chance to start for the first team or at least come on vs playing in the Youth Cup then they'd take the former 100%

The FA Youth Cup is deemed as the most prestigious youth comp in this country domestically. As others have said, Braybrooke Alves and Nelson have played all through the rounds. The side you'll see midweek in the youth cup is not the same side you'd see on a Saturday morning, all clubs take it very seriously and I'd imagine United will have some dropping down from their 23's to play with the 18s too. It's not uncommon.

 

Besides, a few of the names from the last time we got to an FA Youth Cup semi-final didn't go on to do too badly:thumbup:

I keep reading that Alves has already turned 17 and various websites suggest he has but then a few others say its May which would explain why he hasn't yet signed his 1st pro contract yet. Anyone know him confirm? 😂😂😂

It is annoying that there are places with 2 different birthdays for him lol

 

I would hope that because he hasn't signed a pro deal yet that it means it is the one in May...

@An Away Move knows him I think. Any ideas if he has turned 17 yet or if it is indeed May?
