There's definitely something about him. Extremely raw so I think it's a delicate situation with how to manage him. The wrong loan move could really send him backwards so wonder whether it's worth keeping him around the first team squad in case there's a chance for him (so in agreement with you).

 

Still got some growing to do but I'm cautiously optimistic about him. And by that I mean that for whatever reason, I just have this feeling that he could properly burst onto the scene and be absolutely quality but trying be temper my expectations :D

If it's Perez, that would be a bad sign for his future. My guess it's some of the Academy kids that got bench time/cameos last season. Jake Wakeling seems pretty good (based on his numbers, haven't seen him play.) I wonder if he'll be off on loan this year?

Yeah just joking really, but a bit weird he hasn't featured yet... I recall the same happened last year with him as well. Leshabella has featured for the first team, so he's a good bet. Not sure what the latest is with Tavares, but you never know, I might have some good news to pass onto @Ric Flairby the end of the day!

There's been some covid cases in and around the club I think so I'm not so sure how much mixing they'll have been between those training with the 1st team in recent weeks and those very much separate with the U23's. Don't forget our first team have been away in Surrey all week and are still there.

we're currently 1-0 up. No idea of the line up or who scored.

Just heading back from the match. BrayBrooke with the first goal and a penalty for Jake wakeling. I was the opposite side, but couldn’t see Beaglehole there.

 

Sammy BrayBrooke by far our stand out player.

Who were the supposed "first team experienced" youth players that featured?

Oh and George Hirst was playing. Really did not impress at all unfortunately. He went off early though so maybe a injury, but I really don’t see him having a future with us.

Hirst, Leshabella. Mitch Clark played too who I guess is pretty experienced. I like him actually - no idea where VDC was preferred ahead of him

Mitch Clark is surprising, I guess Blackpool have decided to not take him on loan after his trial

Now I am wondering if it was him playing CB rather than in midfield actually. Sorry, I am a terrible reporter! They didn’t do any team announcements or substitution announcements so that didn’t help. If it’s the guy I think it was he didn’t especially stand out to me in all honesty, but then didn’t do anything disastrously wrong.

There is some confusion over his actual position so it would make sense.

It’s what threw me! I was thinking he was the defender but then searched for a pic and saw him listed as a midfielder!

because Clark was loaned out and VDC didn't need to be registered in the 25 man squad
