That's really unlucky, I thought we were excellent when we brought Russ and a pennant on and had wingers and an actual striker. There's some talented midfielders amongst this squad, really having to scrape the barrel defensively though. What on earth they are doing with that Ronnie Nelson I don't know, we always have crap defenders in the U23's making up the numbers.

So similar to last Sunday's first team game. We battered them 2nd half, were obviously better than them, but somehow managed to lose the game.

Some quite impressive performances for us though & we look to have some decent prospects. I especially was impressed with nos. 7,8,11.

Wanya Marca in the last 2 games (no. 8) has really shown his potential. It looked as if he might be on his way out last summer but glad he signed a new deal. McAteer is very much like Callum Wright, he scores goals and has at all levels so far. He's not especially skillful or flash but he's a positive midfielder who likes to get on the ball and attack.

What impresses me as much as his ability on the ball, is that Maswanhise is willing to be aggressive at pressing and challenging for the ball and I do think he has something about him as Ben Petty says. Rodgers doesn't tend to have players aged 17/18 in the 1st team but he's obviously liked what he's seen in Jethro and he looks a real talent.

Very well summed up & I was also impressed with Braybrooke. The under 23 league is bizarre. I see Chelsea are bottom, having dominated this for years, it just shows that results are meaningless but I would not want us to get relegated.

However the team & style of play look so much better than recent years & gives a cause for optimism for the future

Lovely finish. Pennant is a curious one. Been in the U18's since he was 15 and the obvious next step after 18 months of being there is the U23's. I've noticed our academy don't go in for a lot of bringing through strikers, we've literally got him in the U18's and then Wakeling, Russ and Regbha in the U23's. If Kian does step up then there's no one to play U18's.

Leicester City’s Development Squad face Leeds United Under-23s live on LCFC TV this Friday evening.
- Leicester City’s Development are back in PL2 action on Friday night
- The Foxes tackle Leeds United Under-23s at King Power Stadium
- Tickets are available to purchase for the clash against the Yorkshire side
- The game is also being broadcast live and for free on LCFC TV (7pm kick-off)

The Premier League 2 Division 1 encounter sees the newly promoted Whites travel to King Power Stadium for matchday six of the 2021/22 campaign (7pm kick-off).

The free broadcast – available via the Club’s website - is set to commence at 6:45pm when coach Ben Petty will speak to LCFC TV to preview the fixture on Filbert Way.

Then, shortly before 7pm, former Leicester City manager Micky Adams will join Niall McCaughan in the press box for live commentary and analysis.

After full-time, meanwhile, post-match interviews from members of the Foxes’ dressing room, as well as highlights of all the key action, will be available on LCFC TV.

Kasey McAteer was on the scoresheet as Leicester City's Development Squad fell to a late 2-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion Under-23s on Friday.

City currently sit in ninth position in the PL2 table, on five points, while Leeds are flying high in fourth having lost just one of their opening six matches, though they have played a game more than the Foxes.

Despite Kasey McAteer’s 85th-minute equaliser, the Foxes were beaten 2-1 by Brighton & Hove Albion Under-23s at AMEX Elite Football Performance Centre last Friday and will be looking to bounce back from that defeat.

After full-time on the south coast, coach Ben Petty told LCFC TV: “They’ve got to keep believing in themselves. They are doing the right things, they are training really well, their performances are getting better, they’re improving.

“The team spirit is really encouraging. They need to stick together, they need to keep believing in what we’re trying to do. That’s the great advantage of being in the top league of the PL2. That’s something that we’ll strive to do, stay in this league and play against the best.”

Tickets are currently on general sale, with adults priced at £3 and under-18s at £1. Click HERE to purchase.
