2 nil at half time. Wanya Marca with the 2nd.

*Maswanhise :P

Both great goals after runs from the left sided players

Danny Mills aint gonna be happy, his son is getting mugged off quite a bit by McAteer and Maswanhise lol

Hahahaa what on earth was I on about. That's who I meant. He'd had a fairly quiet half playing more up front than out wide but that finish and then his work in injury time to win a corner was quality. His work rate and physicality for such a slender player will impress Brendan no end. Interesting to see how he develops in the next year.

Brad Young and Braybrooke are impressive.

Benkovic didn’t impress defending that added time goal - managed to make himself as small as possible trying to block the shot !

surely he should be trying to keep a clean sheet - all the defenders should be proud to do that

...good game, we were solid, Wan Marca looked very calm and composed in front of the defence!!!

Braybrooke looks like a young Modric and no doubt copies his style of play. He seemed to not be too involved in the first half, and you can see he is the one who reads the game but doesn't get hold of the game and dictate our play. He came more into it in the second half and you can see his quality as he was picking them apart with balls played  into areas and we had willing runners. Great pass for the third goal, but he needs to get involved more.

Would have loved to see more of McAteer and Suengchitthawon is a positive player on this team and does everything right. Maswanhise seems to be in two minds when attacking the box, took his goal well, just need to be more positive, as there were situations where had he fully committed he would have been clean through or bought a penalty.

Good to watch U23s again, we have one or two quality players in the making.

Great fun to go and watch that!

Madivadua and Braybrooke great in the middle, Maswanhise and McAteer causing Mills’ lad no end of trouble down the left, Young came up with some really good saves when needed

Not too sure on Spencer-Adams and Ronny Nelson, SA made some shocking passes in the 1st half (somehow managed to pass straight to an Everton player 5 yards away from a free kick) but that could be down to being new at the club etc. and Nelson at times completely mistimed some headers when he just need to take a step forward or back to be under the ball properly

Rodgers, a load of youngsters and some staff were sat in the stand as well for the 2nd half (not sure about 1st, think Rodgers may have been up on the Balcony then)

Braybrooke bossing U23 games, at 17 is very promising. Was really impressed with him tonight. Thought he and Wanya Marca were the best players on the pitch tonight, definitely bossed that midfield area.

...Braybrooke's contract ends next year, probably now would be a good time to start a conversation in order to tie him down!!!

He has a lot of potential and there are going to be scouts who are already aware of him. Time to get that pen to paper.

This was in The Mail in April 2021

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9500693/SECRET-SCOUT-Leicester-Citys-Sammy-Braybrooke-chance-impress-Foxes.html

THE SECRET SCOUT: Pint-sized Sammy Braybrooke can be the smallest player on the pitch for Leicester City but the deep-lying midfielder is energetic, rarely loses the ball and will get his chance to impress for the Foxes
Sammy Braybrooke is starring in the Leicester City youth set up at 17 years old
Despite being just 5ft 6in, he is excellent on the ball and shows good leadership
He needs to add goals, but he is at the moment still playing in deep midfield

WHAT'S HE GOT?
Playing in central midfield in front of his three-man defence, Braybrooke cut a rather diminutive figure. Only 5ft 6in, he has an enthusiasm and energy that was important for his team and I liked the way he used the ball, rarely losing possession. He has good energy and is not intimidated.

He's right-footed with enough confidence to use his left foot without losing valuable seconds by transferring the ball to his stronger foot.

He made himself available to receive the ball in his central position when the wing-backs had the ball. From there, he looked up early to spread play and feed his front men whenever possible.

In possession, he showed a big heart and determination to retrieve the ball, scuttling to close down and tackle players who were invariably more muscular.

He was the smallest man on the field but was not intimidated and showed his leadership credentials. Leicester have some big boys in their Under 18 team and at the moment he is very much an apprentice, despite also featuring in the club's Under 23 squad.

His stats in terms of accurate passing and tackling would be very good. He certainly ticks a few boxes.

He has been at Leicester for some time now and I wondered whether he had watched and studied N'Golo Kante at close quarters when the France midfielder was so instrumental in their Premier League title win. He looks a good character and will get his chances.

WHAT DOES HE NEED?

His diminutive size means he needs to retain his confidence to continue playing against bigger players. He must understand he has to be exceptional but he reads the game, can pass and will look forward. He could add goals to his game to become an even more complete player - but playing deep, that is not a concern at this stage of his development.

Olly Lancashire is a 32-year-old signed by a Premier League club to play for the Under-23s – but why?

Really interesting article here on clubs signing an older 'Support player' to play in the U23s alongside the youth to help guide their professional and personal development. Sounds a bit like what Dean Hammond did here for a little bit.

If we could bring back one former (but still active) player, who would you like it to be? Fuchs would have been perfect, I think.
