I think Wanya, Kian Pennant & Tawanda Maswanhise will be on bench for Liverpool fc game

2 of those are currently injured and Maswanhise seems to have fallen down the pecking order with Rodgers. Gone from being plucked straight from U18's and bypassing U23's and training with the first team for the back end of last season where he was on the be ch at Old Trafford, to being one of our most promising players in pre-season and Rodgers saying he'd be staying here this season to further develop and ay U23's as well, where he's been our standout player and yet that seems to have made him less of a consideration for Rodgers. Odd when we've only 2 wingers and 1 ACM currently available to us.

I don’t know why Brunt is around the first team no disrespect to him but 🤷🏼🤷🏼

Same, Grist and Godsmark-Ford obviously not considered remotely ready.

Ewing, Brunt, Flynn, Nelson, McAteer, Braybrooke all trained with the first team today

Defenders and midfielders. Maybe BR thinks he doesn't need to look at forwards.

Whatever the reason for who is chosen, it's great for them to be included in the first team training.

Baring in mind the U23's have decided to ignore strikers and play a 5ft 4 midfielder up front instead, I can see why Rodgers isn't filled with confidence.

BBC said the training ground is shut for 48 hours ???

Only first team areas

Not sure what it will mean for the under 23 players that have been training with the first team though

Should be scouting Brazil not Scotland 😤

Work permits are more of a problem now within the EU so it makes sense to look where that isn't a problem I guess.

Young players are actually a lot easier to pick up from South America now compared to the EU

They score massive points towards a work permit from playing in the Copa Libertadores which is weighted the same as playing in the Champions League

Interesting. I didn’t know that. I was thinking about Scotland verses EU countries though. I suspect it’s easier to get the next wonderkid from Scotland here rather than from France or Germany.

Re-shuffle abound.

Beaglehole is now part time, working just one day a week. Ben Petty is currently overseeing the U23s with Adam Barradell overseeing the U18s. Paul Cheney is Head of Academy Coach Development while Paul McGuinness is Head of Academy Player Development.

Our academy staff structure is listed on: https://trainingground.guru/articles/mcguinness-takes-on-new-head-of-player-development-role-at-leicester
