I went down to Villa Park tonight, yes I have nothing better to do!

I think the future is really bright.

Great username.

Very good group of players this under 18 side. Popov looks like a beast already and he's only 18.

I love in the Youth Cup how non league clubs and lower league clubs can compete deep in the competition. At Under 18 level, the raiding of youth teams hasn't quite happened yet. Rugby Town play Cheltenham Town tonight for example.

It really is. I tend to go overboard but I don't recall an U18 side quite as good as this for quite some time.

Braybrooke

Nelson

Pennant

Popov

Alves

Grist

At least 2 of those will make it I'm convinced of it. Nice for us to get a player like Popov for once as opposed to the usual muck we pick up.

There's plenty of others that are highly rated too.

Do we think any of the youngsters will make the squad for Napoli?

Probably VDC that’s all

Using Wheel Of Fortune selection logic Bren likes sit one on the bench for the magical experience of getting all kitted out for a front row seat for what are increasingly disappointing performances which gives the youngsters the feeling that they're that bit closer to ousting one of the first teamers.

......or they'll think blimey I've got no chance of making it here if I can't get in this team.

Brendan's 'that'll make them leave' strategy.

The spine of the team Nelson, Alves, Braybrook and Popov, all 4 have something about them

Aylestone Park lost narrowly to Sheffield Wednesday in the 2nd Round, after beating Lincoln City in the round before. Massive achievement for a club of that size.

When this happens does the pro team try and sign all the best players lol

I’d imagine anyone playing for Aylestone wouldn’t hesitate at the chance!

Who's that on the right then?

As previously mentioned McAteer has travelled also, and Nelson.

Oliver Ewing

Oli Ewing, bizarre he's been called up ahead of Braybrooke and Wanya Marca.

Ewing is a talented young player and deserves an inclusion with the the squad training.

He is talented but Braybrooke and Wanya Marca are ahead of him in their current development and ability.

Under 23s aren't playing until next Friday so might as well throw him in for the under 18s
