GingerrrFox Posted 31 July 2021 Posted 31 July 2021 I wonder whether the lacklustre performances in pre-season have something to do with poor ticket sales so far for the community shield.

Doubt it. They're pre-season games. They mean nothing. Some worldwide pandemic might have something to do with it though. 5

Around 50% of STH have brought a ticket, considering COVID issues and monetary cost when some people are still struggling financially is pretty good, Demand in members have seemed to be very low despite all that

adejo92 Posted 31 July 2021 Posted 31 July 2021 (edited) For some that went to the F.A Cup final, this will be comparable to coming home from the Maldives to go straight for a weekend in Skeggy. It just isn't going to compare so some might choose to save the money and risk and wait for the league to start. Ultimately, its a glorified friendly and if Wembley wasn't such a rarity for us, i am sure there would be even less sales. To Manchester City, i am sure this fixture is nothing more than an inconvenience. To those that never made the FA Cup final, Like myself, i am buzzing to go next Saturday. Spudulike Posted 31 July 2021 Posted 31 July 2021 Nacho is going to have trouble balancing that shield on his head. 1 1

phoneticerror Posted 31 July 2021 Posted 31 July 2021 We expecting our A Squad for this fixture? Or still the pre-season 100% changeover at half time? My boy won’t stop asking me if Kasper is going to be playing at Wembley 😂 #Hero

There'll still be a pandemic whether you go or not, get our there and enjoy yourself would be my advice. Although can I put an Ayoze Perez disclaimer in on that enjoyment if today's team is anything to go by?!! 3 1

No. Not having that. That was for England in a major championship final. There's been hundreds of games at Wembley, never happened before. This is the Community Shield, certainly won't see scenes like that. You wouldn't see anything like that at even an FA Cup final. I'd be absolutely amazed if that's influenced anyone. 1

Echo what you say, it wouldn't have anything to do with that. For most, the exciting thing is going to Wembley, not the fact that it's the community shield. A lot will be content watching this on ITV in the safety of their living room / local pub. A full capacity at Wembley is yet another experiment on the covid journey. 1

HybridFox Posted 31 July 2021 Posted 31 July 2021 I actually thought the ticket prices were very reasonable for this. I know it's only the Community Shield but wish all finals were around the same band 1

HybridFox Posted 31 July 2021 Posted 31 July 2021 (edited) The only thing that concerns me is neither of our first choice goalkeepers have played any pre season football yet. I'll sh*** myself if we start with Jakupovic Edited 31 July 2021 by TK95
