It is mad the way that Maddison is being slagged off on this forum.

Some have forgotten how major his contributions were when fully fit last season.  He was involved in so many goals.

He has shown he can play in both a 352 and a 433.

He is beginning to get the same barracking and fan disloyalty that Chilwell had to put up with.

Players read forums.  Why would Maddison feel loyal when so many fans are dung slinging?

There are many who want Maddison to stay; me for one.  Unfortunately, some vociferous posters are on a campaign of negativity.  A fully fit Maddison playing for another team would hurt Leicester.

I hope he appears in pre-season photos soon.

Do they?

Pretty foolish if they do. Just like, say teachers, why would you look on a forum that will have such diverse opinions.

If, as you suggest they do, I hope they are thick skinned. There aren't many players at our club that have escaped the wrath of our fan base, particularly on the match day thread.

Why do we have a kangaroo court out for players who probably have a perfectly good reason and agreement for their absence (assuming they are actually absent) with the club?

I think this largely due to the fact that last time they were missing from training something pretty large had kicked off in the background.

Additionally last year 6 players missed the start if pre season due to having to quarantine and the manager wasn't happy about it.

No smoke without fire, eh?

Perez I kinda get. He hasn't done enough since arriving to earn much of the benefit of the doubt and after the party rubbish people just have a critical eye on him. Mads I don't get.

Wanya Marcal-Madivadua, Kian Pennant, and Jake Wakeling joined up with the first team training

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leicester-city-star-rejoins-training-5653956

So from the academy that's

Marcal-Madivadua

Pennant

Wakeling

Braybrooke

Nelson

Odunze

Suengchitthawon

VDC

Iversen

Sawah

KDH

Flynn

Maswanhise

Wright

That's a really good mix of slightly older players who have had loan experience and very young players under 18 getting their chance to train with the first team squad and manager.

Seriously exciting time for us right now.

Interestingly, no sign of Hirst, Eppiah or Clark (oldest players now in the u23s)

I imagine we are probably looking to shift them

For the most part, fans can be quick to criticise, and are generally then easy to please.

Not saying neither Madders or Perez covered themselves in glory last season, but the anger is multiplied when the fans feel they’re not good enough in games.

But you only have to look at Danny Simpson for a recent example of how easy fans forget about anything off the pitch when they play well on it.

If Maddison has a belter of a season, which he is more than capable of doing, you watch the tide of opinion change.

There has been some interest in Hirst, but I believe only on loan.

No idea on Eppiah or Clark.

At what level do you know? His spell at Rotherham was atrocious.

I'll try and give you more when I can. Do appreciate its not all that exciting.

FWIW I think Rotherham wasn't a great move for him; obvious in hindsight. I also think he just needs to be starting games and if that means dropping another level, then so be it.

Rotherham I felt was a much smarter move than OHL on paper. He really needs this next one to be a success.

He was just rarely used though or thrown on for 10 minutes here and there.

Needed to be in League One, even if for a relegation battling team, playing week in week out

Hopefully that will be the move he gets this summer

Needs a manager that really fancies him and what he's all about and will give him a run in the team.

Fingers crossed for him.

Loan him to Sheffield Wednesday anyone?
