Everyone seems keen on writing off Spurs and Arsenal.  I suspect at least one of them will surprise us.

Yeah in theory Arsenal just have to focus on the league so they don’t have a lot of excuses not to be competing with us with everything else we have as well.

It just seems to me that Arteta has one plan for them - and it doesn’t work against certain sides - I still expect they will take points off us as it’s Sod’s law 😂 Last season he wasn’t able to evolve his side in the same way that we did with Brendan, it was just one way of playing and nothing else. They are really struggling to find someone to do the Ozil role well and unlock defences which is vital for the way they want to play all the time - no wonder they want Madders.

Spurs are Spurs 😂

Villa and Leeds are very upwardly mobile clubs. Decent ownership, management, coaching, squads and recruitment are what matter with long term success and they're getting most of it right at the minute. Wolves and Brighton will have better seasons too. West Ham will be midtable.

We should be pulling clear of this lot though because our squad is already significantly better, then we've made some serious additions to it as well & we won't have the same injuries, you'd expect.

Spurs and Everton have got handbrake managers in. I think Everton will be really difficult to beat but will draw too many. Spurs will be underwhelming and the wheels will fall with Kane and Son wanting out.

Arsenal will improve but we should still have too much for them, it's only Tierney that would get into our side atm.

I have noticed this as well, two seasons in 5th and we become entitled fans like some of the clubs we despise. I think the league is very open and competitive bar the Top 3 or so clubs. Anyone can grab a good finishing position if they work hard and things go their way. However, nothing is a given. Let's be reminded of 2015/16 when Spurs and Arsenal both won the league!

Even the Top 3 clubs can be challenged but that will take a hell of a lot of an effort and some luck on the way.

I think we will have another good season, fighting on 4 fronts with a good squad depth, but let's be patient and see how things go before planning title celebrations!

I'm not sure if it is all down to entitlement, though. I think it's quite realistic to expect us to challenge for top 4. We've finished 5th twice in a row, and that's while dealing with some serious injury problems.

I think we've strengthened very well already this summer, and we might well not be done yet. I'd say it's unlikely we'll have such bad luck with injuries this season as we've had recently, on top of that.

Man U

Man City

Chelsea

Liverpool

For me, we have to finish above one of them and to be honest, right now we are the fifth best team in the league if we perform... not going to be easy.

I just feel some posts are over-confident/arrogant. Being confident in us is great but there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. The latter being unheard of from Leicester fans over 125+ years.

Not sure I would put us to be Top 4 on paper, maybe Top 6 at a push. However, being capable does not mean that it will happen. You would think that if injuries stay away, we could really challenge but let's wait and see. I am confident we can do well but I will curb my optimism until I see some proof. We are very well set up from top down (no pun intended), which cannot be said about a lot of clubs.

Getting off to a good start will be key for us, as it will be for our 'rivals'. Predicting where we'll finish is always going to be difficult given the many variables that come into play. If we look at the last two campaigns, had they not been interrupted by Covid, and had we not had significant injuries we'd have qualified for the CL on both occasions. Going into this season the club has clearly learned from these painful experiences by strengthening the squad both in terms of depth and quality.. In addition, with a few exceptions, most notably Vardy and Evans, most of our players have not peaked and with another year's experience under their belts will get better. Therefore, there is every likelihood that we can, in terms of performance, further improve on our previous two campaigns. And, should that be the case a top 4 finish is certainly a realistic possibility. .

That's the key. We've had two seasons' worth of horrendous injury troubles. Most teams.lose perhaps on average  two first xi players for a.large part of the season....We've been playing with at least 6 or 7 regular first teamers out since the March Lockdown 2020.  We are due a bit of luck.

I think our first xi is a shade stronger then spurs'....however our squad is way ahead of theirs.

I think a full strength West Ham.and Everton are a handful but again, our squad depth mullers theirs.

I think Villa are a long way off our level and Leeds could well have a second season syndrome (not to the extent of Sheffield but certainly perhaps with wolves)

Finishing 5th or 6th would represent par and we could/should be well satisfied with that, especially with a tilt at the cups

West Ham? No, their squad is too thin. Everton? Bit more likely but still no. Maybe Aston Villa will get Europe, although Dean Smith doesn't really impress me. And maybe Leeds will too, but I don't know if their squad has enough quality either.

Will say, would not be surprised if Arsenal and Spurs improve on their last season. It's possible that Nuno especially, if he can get this Bryan Gil geezer to work out, will have some success. If Gil was left footed he would be my absolute top choice for RW, very creative, pacy, and tricky player. Suits what we need to a T.

If Villa keep hold of Grealish then they could seriously mount a decent challenge on top 6.

As for Everton, WHU and Leeds, i think they will be top half but not good enough.

We have earned our billing as best of the rest and still think that we have the best chance of anyone of breaking the top four. That does however, put more pressure on us as other teams, especially the big guns, will be even keener to try and put us down and raise their own games against us.

It is going to be an interesting season, and i think, even more open and competitive than last.

Yes we were best of the rest, but a new season, throws down a fresh gauntlet. A new challenge begins...

if People would Keep @Nick @KrefelderFox666 & a few others in focus....we wouldn t have so many Melt downs sourced/based on entitlement....

Thats Why I Dont see traditional Top 4  as our status-quo competitors for positions.   If We get points Off them, or end up above a couple of them, thats

Gravy from my perspective & means we would of done more than well...

No..Thats Why I mentioned those that I did...because I See those other also rans, are the ones, that just 'might' push us aside, for One of those Top 4-6 positions.

We might Jump for joy 3 pointing L'pool,Chelsea even Spurs etc....but it is the Norwich,Soton,Evertons,A.Villa,Palace that we have to be concerned about...

In the past we got the Double over the then champions L'pool, then got relegated...Winning More  against the Bottom 12, gets you challenging the Big boys...

Not the odd 3 Pointer against Top 5...!

Don't worry, I will still moan when we don't finish Top 4 with 6 games to go!

Normally I am pretty wound up for a while after a game. So for me it is best to wait a day and then assess a match/league position. That's when I am normally fairly balanced on my view. I guess I simply want us to win every game but know that realistically, our expectations are a bit under that!

It didn’t read like that! When the penny dropped I was already madly trying to edit but you replied before I could sort! 😂

West Ham will drop off I think. Lingard gone, done very little all summer and now got Europa League to contend with too. Obviously we have as well, but we did last season.

Aston Villa I think are a bigger threat. I think they're improving year on year.

Everton... probably won't be as horrendous as expected but I do think the first sign of things going wrong under Benitez it will be toxic beyond belief. I do quite rate Benitez but it's just a bad mix, and their recruitment should worry nobody bar themselves.

I agree with whoever said Leeds are a threat. They're a real dark horse for Europe of some form imo.

What I love about prem football is you look at a side like wolves for example...  they could be pushing top 5 or fighting relegation the margins are really that thin.

There’s probably only 3 clubs (if that) that I’d be confident to put money on finishing bottom half. (Norwich, watford and palace) maybe burnley as well but they’ve pulled off some strange things

I’m as optimistic as ever with us but I know that the rub of the green is always needed at the top level.

Top 6 is a good one to aim for, I think. Can we get top 4? Yes. But Chelsea have gone into mental mode under Tuchel. Liverpool are an unknown quantity and I doubt they'll be that awful this year.

The one thing that cannot happen again is a collapse. I'd rather be 8th all season and scrape 6th than the disappointment of last two years.
