Lenglet, haven't seen much of him but thought he's done ok up until recently... perhaps a solid choice if we can make it work but wages could be an issue. Cahill makes most sense, need an older figure to support the younger defenders... chances are he may not feature much, but he is dependable if called upon. Tarkowski, can't see Burnley letting him go now. Kabak, wages an issue, didn't set the world alight at Liverpool.. maybe do a job. Difficult one, but hope club act quickly whilst not being reactive in a bad sense.

Hack Posted 5 August 2021 Posted 5 August 2021 I really am sure the club will have a list of potential targets that will now be worked on urgently due to Wes's injury. It is fun for us to play the who is coming game. I am sure we will soon find out with the season soon to be upon us. Would not be surprised it/the will be players none of us have mentioned.
Shane Posted 5 August 2021 Posted 5 August 2021 Signing 2 CB’s seems unlikely. Negotiating for just 1 player is difficult at the best of times & now teams/agents will know we’re desperate. I think what we will do is sign someone like Kabak this summer, keeping Amartey, Benkovic & Nelson as cover & then re-assessing the situation in January. Maybe we will try get Tarkowski on the cheap with 6 months left on his contract. Ideally we could just wait to sign him for free, but can see us needing some reinforcements. 1

Cahill wouldn't be first choice but could be a decent leader until we get Evans back. Boateng is good but his wage demands would be disgusting.
