Once again no Leicester player picked, do question why kane is been selected hes captain yes but considering hes hardly playing just make the decision stranger. Surprised ings didnt make the list. Good that bamford finally gets his call up.

Because of who he plays for. Take Lingard, for example. Played a massive part in getting West Ham into Europe last season but missed out on the Euro's squad. Back at Man U this season playing a bit part role, mostly off the bench and he's straight back in the squad.

 

There are obviously SOME exemptions to this (such as Coady and Sam Johnstone) but for the most part, if you want to play for England, playing regularly for an "unfashionable" team won't be enough, you have to go and sit on the bench at one of the "big" clubs

We don't have any English players worthy of a call up at the minute. Maddison and Barnes aren't yet anywhere near what their performance levels were pre their injuries and Justin is still injured.

Kane has been called up because he's been Southgate's number one striker for the past 4 years and is one of the first names on the team sheets. Barnes and Maddison needed a good showing in the first few games of the season to have a chance of breaking into the squad, which hasn't happened. 

Southgate gave plenty of opportunities to players outside the big 6 during the Euro's Rice, Phillips, Mings, Coady and Calvert-Lewin

Yeah, no idea why any Leicester fan can moan about our players not being picked. 

Maddison hasn't really had a single game where he hasn't been a passenger since his injury in about February/March and Barnes hasn't hit the ground running yet either since his injury in January.

We moan about players being picked on reputation and not form, but on form, neither Maddison or Barnes should be anywhere near the England squad atm.
