Matt Gilles, Won our first trophy, the league cup. got us to 2 FA cup finals and finished as high as fourth. A bit before most of our times.

Martin O'Neil. Only manager to  win 2 trophies with us as well as losing in a league cup final too.

Claudio Ranieri. Won the biggest prize we've ever won while being favourites for relegation.

Brendan Rodgers. Won our only FA cup plus back to back top 5 finishes.

Went for Gillies just because he was there the longest and from what I've read impacted not only the club but also football in England. Could've won the double in 62-63.

Major trophy winners only why?

Because then it's based on achievement rather than popularity.

Major trophies are not the only achievements though. If we're ruling out a manager who took us from our lowest point to building a side capable of winning the Premier League then there's no point in having the poll.

Just think of it as the ‘Best Leicester Manager Who Isn’t Nigel Pearson’ poll then!

The Trimurti. Pearson, Shakespeare, Ranieri. Ultimately the three wise men that won us the league (assist: S Walsh.)

Rodgers doing a good job but he needs to break the top four to to top Don Claudio really.

Oh ok so it's less about the poll being based on popularity and more about it not including people you don't like.

Can we do general elections like this? Vote for your MP but only Labour, Lib Dem or Greens because I don't like the other options.

If you don't want to vote in the poll, nobody is forcing you.

This is going well @Webbolol

I think the above four are a fair comparison for a thread. Can't vote for Claudio because that was just a dream and didn't really happen.`.

Hmm, Rodgers or O'Neill. This will sound incredibly harsh on Brendan, but if his teams had just garnered a couple more points in either of the last two season, it would be almost impossible to put MON above him. As it is, O'Neill just shades it for me. The joy those cup wins brought at the time slightly overshadows the FA cup win for me. I didn't expect us to beat Chelsea, but I thought we were in with a good shout and Rodgers also inherited a pretty good squad and was expected to do well. I didn't think we'd win feck all back when O'Neill started and the joy of 3 cup finals in 4 years is hard to top.

Both managers punched above their weight in the league. Rodgers also still has time on his side to overtake O'Neill though.

I haven't considered Gilles as I wasn't alive.

Claudio did win the big one though, regardless of whether the pieces were put in place for him. I find it hard to vote him best manager of the four, but I've done it anyway.

MON.

He REALLY  changed us as a club.

Got us into the Premier league  and won us League Cup.

Until him we were literally a second tier club getting play offs now and again under Brian little.

MON gave us a team we could be proud of.

No big boys, players you hadn't heard of and local lads who played for him.

Lennon, Izzet,Guppy,Heskey,Pontus etc.....

Just amazing time for our club at that level and without the great owners we have now.

Imagine that combination now!!!!???

Martin O’Neill for me, just loved where he assembled an average team and then brought in the likes of Lennon, izzet, Collymore etc, you always felt you could snatch something in the closing minutes if we was losing he had a knack of getting the best out of players.

Can't help but think he learned some of that from Clough. I also can't help imagining what he might have got out of the current squad of players...Different times, different players I guess. O'Neill was clearly a very bright man, despite his eccentricities.

Yeah. I probably want to change my vote now lol

I immediately thought O'Neill when I first read the title, then talked myself out of it because Ranieri won the league and that is just insane.

You make a good plea on behalf of MON though and I agree with the points you've made.

Well, BR isn't done yet. I cannot vote for Gillies because I don't know enough about him. Claudio - how could I not love him? MO'N - the first time in my lifetime it felt like LCFC could become big, one day.

I cannot vote.
