Surely we're in with a shout following the FA Cup win and 5th place?!

Probably won't win it but do expect us to be on the shortlist

Emma Raducanu will surely win the individual award, in shortlist that bizarrely features Raheem sterling and the right-on BBC choice of a disabled person

I lost a lot of interest in this when they introduced short lists.

To be fair Storey has a bucketload of olympic golds and world records. She's been competing in the olympics since 1992.

I know and it isn't an attack on her personally, but the BBC devalue her achievements by sticking her on in an all too transparent attempt at inclusively.

I can't remember the whole list nor be arsed to look, but is Mark Cavendish on it?

Of course he isn't.

There's a list of 6 and 1 of them, Tyson Fury, has told them to stick it up their arse lol

Peaty has to win. He’s the most dominant athlete we’ve ever produced unbeaten in long course breaststroke over a four year period…. He’s also the only British swimmer ever to successfully retain his Olympic title. Comfortable the best swimmer we’ve ever had. The fact he hasn’t been knighted yet and Hamilton has it an utter disgrace. Peaty is the greatest sports person we’ve ever produced, and he hasn’t even gotten started yet.

He has also redefined breaststroke and his 100m long course time is frankly freakish. He’s a monster.

Largely agree but the Raducanu win was an extraordinary worldwide sporting moment. It was Boris Becker level, if not higher. Swimming just hasn't got that mass appeal

In 1991 angler Bob Nudd polled the highest number of votes ever, but the BBC disallowed him because it was orchestrated by the Angling Times. Since then the BBC have taken it upon themselves to fix the outcome.

He is untouchable over 100m long course breaststroke… I don’t think as a nation some people realise how good he actually is…..

Bit harsh that.

like you said, he’s  only done the deeds over4 years, Hamilton has been doing it for the last 7-8.
