He just is not fancied it seems. Mmmmm I think that was borderline at times. I remember most of the 6 of us that went to games together wondering what NFP saw in training that we weren’t seeing in matches for a while with the subsequent GOAT
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 30 August 2024 Posted 30 August 2024 You'd think Ward-Prowse would be the perfect compliment to all those free-kicks that Ayew can win. But as per, no joined up thinking in LCFC's recruitment department. 2

Unfortunately this isn't American Football, where you can just wheel on specialist kickers when the need arises. 2

One thing if they're saying that they won't pay over the odds for a player (though they've screwed that by waiting so long), but if they have basically decided that we're ok, they are clearly as out of touch as we all imagined

I think he'd be an upgrade on Ndidi, as much as I appreciate what Ndidi can (or at least once did) bring to the team.

Ndidi won't be a regular starter - our two deep-lying midfielders will be Skipp and Winks. I'm not sure I'd want JWP in ahead of either of those.

Popular Post EnderbyFox Posted 30 August 2024 Popular Post Posted 30 August 2024 The risk of not signing a striker is akin to the decision to just play Danny Ward in the relegation season. Rolling the dice on what we have being good enough is a big mistake imo. 16

I just think that, as it stands, we are going to struggle to score enough goals from open play, so set-pieces could be the difference between us staying up or going down. And I don't think there is anyone better in the PL than JWP at set-piece delivery. Yes, we might have to carry him a bit in open play but I think he'd be a net positive on the whole. Pliskin Posted 30 August 2024 Posted 30 August 2024 I think that the club will be trying to bring a striker in. Regardless of that report. Perhaps it’s a bit of a ploy from the club to help us go under the radar a bit to sign someone. I’ll put my neck on the line and say we will have a striker on loan from Chelsea, who remains to be seen.

JWP on loan as we actually don’t have one player to take any set peice which is disgusting. This could have been instead of skipp. Then we have 25-30 mill to spend on a striker - Problem solved. We have quality deliveries and a decent stiker aswell Ayew to win the free kicks.
benpicko Posted 30 August 2024 Posted 30 August 2024 Absurd that we'll have fewer strikers than the relegation season when Vardy and Daka already weren't good enough, mental 3
LVFox Posted 30 August 2024 Posted 30 August 2024 Well that's our ability to score more than one a game gone. Luckily we can rely on the defensive abilities of *checks notes* Wout Faes and Yanick Vestegaard **** 1
Nolucklcfc Posted 30 August 2024 Posted 30 August 2024 Absolute shambles to be going into a season with an older Vardy, ayew and a young striker we don’t want. Pathetic yet again from the club. 2
Lcfcokay Posted 30 August 2024 Posted 30 August 2024 If its true business is done It’s another horrific transfer window in the premier league. going into a prem season with Daka, vardy and ayew as your striker option. Vardy is the goat but can’t and won’t play every game… ayew played on the wing for palace and Daka is Daka… plus he’s injured. the whispers that we don’t have money left for a striker is made worse by the fact we spent 25 million on Oliver skipp…. My only saving grace is… surely we aren’t stupid enough to let cannon go if we really aren’t going to bring a striker in. Especially with Daka’s injury. 1
