I reckon CDK is gonna be our right sided forward option that we go for, even if he's not naturally a right winger.

...should anyone at the club choose to do that, they would deserve to be shown the door!!!

Why should we be looking to recreate the Perez situation by bringing in a player with a big fee and then play him out of position year on year in order to justify the errant outlay.

I have watched him recently, playing inside Right and he was never involved in the game. No one was looking to find him and the game just passed him by.

If Lookman was as good on the right as he was on the left, what a better team we would be. We need someone who is natural to the role, who can beat a man link up play and has enough awareness in the final third to release the ball to someone in a more advantageous position, than try to score the wonder goal every time.

How much was it? We've paid Hamza 60k a week on the back of 1 previous pay rise where he'd played a handful of 1st team games for us and Perez was given £90k a week straight off the bat.

£60-£80k but also included a clause that bumped his wages significantly to around £100k after just 30 league appearances (not just starts, being subbed on also counted)

Initial wage may be okay (still slightly high for my liking) but that 30 appearances wage clause is pretty risky to give to someone coming up from the Championship

Would actually really annoy me if he goes Southampton. Seems such an obvious deal to do considering the price, it’s such a low risk/high reward deal. The way we miss out on signings like this can really frustrate me.

There is plenty of time for lots of teams to hijack a deal. Our problem is our biggest carrot (aside from wages) is the possibility of European football: An issue still very much in the air.

I feel this may be the case, but also feel it's just not really the right thing to do as it's not his actual position.

I think the only player we've signed in that position where it's his main position since selling Mahrez is Ghezzal.

Perez at the fee he cost was always going to be able to command a big wage too, you assume for that price he's a starter.

No clue about the reliability of that source, but it's the first press outlet to report what the club will very likely announce this afternoon. They announced a press conference out of nowhere, it was then revealed to be to announce a new attacking player from Ukraine. And then OL Twitter fans found out that it was Tetê, after he followed a barber from Lyon on Instagram."

Stolen from elsewhere but doesn't look like he's coming here

Doesn't actually mean much even if he is announced. Players from Ukraine can sign temporary contracts until June, but the Premer League won't open slots in their squad for them. Even if Lyon signs him, it would only be until the end of the season, and then he would be free to sign for another team. In many ways, it would be just a complicated loan.

...according to the article he is looking to make the move permanent in July!!!

Yes. So easily hijackable!

...hard to up sticks again, after leaving Ukraine to France where you have a few of your country men in place, to go to England and start all over again!!!

I would like to see him here, but he will have to be driven by money or be quite resilient to move all over again.

“OL will sign the Brazilian from Chakhtior Donetsk Tetê on Thursday until the end of the season. He is an attacking reinforcement of choice for Peter Bosz.”

Well, there’s that then.

Not that hard! He's a footballer! I doubt he's buying real estate in Lyon before July. As I said, it is for all practical purposes a loan until July.

If he wants to play -- and wants to get paid -- for the rest of the season, he needs to sign a temporary deal with a team in a league that is registering Ukrainian league players.

If he is totally out of his depth in France, do you think Lyon will really sign him to a permanent deal in July? And if he wows in Ligue 1, he won't sign a deal with another team for more money?

That being said, I am not sure we are actually in for him, aside from "monitoring the situation." He's Brazilian, yes, and we need a RW, but the jump from the Ukrainian league to the Premier League is a big one.

Saints fans are shell shocked judging by social media .... yesterday reports suggested they had won the race to sign him 😂

Always going to end in disappointment when they were led to believe in was going to play at St. Mary's next season

Good to see the French league made it possible, where as the PL flatly refused to allow registration of players from Ukraine or Russia.

At the end of the day players want to play not sit on their ass for 4 months.

I don't think he was ever coming to the UK short term.

At the end of the day, as others have said he's keeping his fitness/game sharpness up at Lyon and then he can do what he wants in the summer.

Like I said the other week, there's no legitamate reason for him to be with his agent at a business space in London if he's not also chatting to Prem teams.

It's very possible he's already signed for Southampton too, or very possible he's got 3 or 4 prem options to choose from after his Lyon stint.

That is what the end of this suggests, as we had made an offer for him, but actually being able to play will have helped swing it in Lyons favour

No chance he stays at Lyon long term. He will be at a Premier League club next season, its all about the £££s.

Depends how much he likes it at Lyon and what they'll pay him. I'd have thought they could stretch to 60 bags a week

I don't see how they keep Cherki, Faivre, Paqueta and Tete all happy even with European football
