I know the season hasn't finished yet, but it's international break time so.... what else can we discuss? I've seen this discussed in a few threads and I was a little surprised by some of the choices so be interested what others have thought.

To me it seems like it should be quite a straight forward choice for James Maddison as as far as I can tell he's won us hands down the most points and dragged us through the most European nights this season of anyone by a decent distance for me in a season where we've had a relegation level defence, it's been our goals and providing goals that have kept us going in Europe and dragged us into the top half of the table. I get he had a dodgy first few weeks, but it's only March and he's already gotten 20 goal contributions for us which is something only Vardy or Mahrez have ever gotten for us in the PL era (even more than the likes of Izzet or Heskey ever got in a season for example).

Seen people say Dewsbury-Hall and he's done well since he came into the side in January but I don't get the argument, he's made less starts (18) than Maddison has goal contributions even and he's played less minutes than Vardy. Surely, if you're choosing a player who's played less than half the minutes this season then Vardy is a much better shout as he was dragging us through games this season?

Anyway, be interested to hear people's arguments and such like

Maddison, for me. Seems to have a lot more fight in him and showing what he can do when he stays regularly fit.

His goals and assists contributions have been superb, and exactly what we need to spread the load away from the forwards.

A great season and hope it continues in the final stretch of it.

If the defence had generally been better I'd probably be hinting at Amartey as he's deputised very well while every other CB has been crocked at some point or other lol. Nevertheless, he's improved a lot recently.

Let's be real, nobody has been phenomenal. Maddison has really stepped up the past few months and KDH has been an absolute revelation. Kasper has pulled off some incredible saves and has definitely won us a fair few points.

It's just all a bit meh

No one has been phenomenal. KDH has been a bright spark and has probably been consistently our best player over a period of time. Let’s not forget that Madders has honked at points this season, which is why I can’t bring myself to give him a vote.

The whole team has been bang averaged.

I think Maddison clearly does stand out though. He's been contributing at the level of pretty much the best English attacking player in the country this season.

Think people are sleeping on just how much he's contributed to us in an attacking sense this season. Think we'll look back on his goals and assists in 15 years time and say how brilliant he was this season and how rare it was for Leicester to have a player like that.

I agree that he’s had a fantastic 4 months but he is just 3 goals/assists ahead of Barnes who nobody in their right mind would say is having a great season.

Not to say you’re wrong that his numbers are impressive, but I thought it was interesting context.

Maddison I think as much as I love Big Dan! Dewsbury-Hall for the young player (if he qualifies)

Thomas for young player. KDH a very close second.

Maddison for me. I wrote him off completely but since December there’s been a complete turn around. I hope he stays fit and maintains this form because he wouldn’t be far off the World Cup squad.

I found it hard but more because there's so few to choose from this season compared to the last few players when you're struggling between about 5/6 who've been superb and another 4/5 are outside shouts.

Maddison should win it but I'd have to agree with Rodgers and say that for consistency over the season, Thomas is obvious one. Had some disappointing games but not the shockers some would have you believe. Maddison didn't really get firing until November but he's been outstanding since and taken his game to a new level.

He will be. Look at his stats this year compared to most of the other guys in similar positions and he still doesn't get called up. Southgate would rather pick 6 central defenders... Maddison is going to have to do a lot more than other players in his position.

KDH for me Takes the mentality of the club up another level. Inspires the intensity needed from the start. Makes everyone better around him.

KDH for me for his consistency, intensity and involvement whenever he’s played. Maddison’s been great recently but can’t forget some lousy stuff early on, perhaps excused by coming back from his injury problems.
