I believe when/if the new stand gets constructed a lot of people will be ask to move , which would then give the club a chance to create a new ‘signing section’ for season ticket holder’s possibly…?

...would that not defeat the purpose!!!

What is being called for is an area, where like minded supporters could congregate in a spontaneous way as opposed to putting caveats on its use.

Non season ticket holders would gravitate towards it, and then you either need to expand the area  or we come full circle, with supporters disgruntled that the club ceases to care about them and their needs.

When the East stand is complete, we have a chance to get it right, I hope that we do.

Christ there’s some spite towards the club in this thread .

It's almost like the fans are blaming the club for creating a problem that fans can solve. It's mad to think that the best atmospheres I've ever seen at the kp include clappers, gold flags and goal music. I just wish people wouldn't be so hostile towards the club and make misguided assumptions that the club wants the atomsphere to be crap.

It's much easier, and more satisfying for those of a certain mindset, to see malice in the actions of other people rather than well meaning lack of competence (which is of course also subjective here).

Fans can't solve the fact that those who actively want to back the team vocally are so poorly spread out that they can't make a difference. Only the club can do something about that.

I've always said if we swapped the kop with the family stand that'd solve the lot.

Haven't union fs always been pretty clear with where they sit and tried to congregate? I've gone back to posts from 2014 and that appears to be the case. Is there any evidence the club have actively tried to break them up?

Can you send me the link to where I can buy some blue tinted specs?

Unsure why we're supposed to just sit and accept the massive lull in atmosphere and personal enjoyment at matches. You've said you support the sections and what those guys in UFS do but they dont happen without pushing the club to do more. It's a two way relationship that needs both sides to proactively want to make the change and this simply isn't happening, hence the creation of the thread.

I also find it hugely ironic that union fs ask for openess from the club but then when any photo is put up they blank their own faces out.

Out of curiosity what's correlation in asking the club to be open and honest when talking to fans and blurred faces?

The club haven't tried to break Union FS up, but the ability to add more people to that area is stunted because of how many season ticket holders are in their area. The group have actively done everything they can to acquire season tickets in the same area as them when they become available, but without a dedicated section they're simply stranded to some degree. There's only so much they can do without the help of those actually selling the tickets - help they've repeatedly sought over the years.

I work with a steward who works in sk1 .

UFS main problem regarding the signing section is other people joining the section who don’t have tickets for the section.

They cannot police it properly as more people try and get in the section and becomes over crowded….abusing stewards and other supporters at the same time !?!
I believe when/if the new stand gets constructed a lot of people will be ask to move , which would then give the club a chance to create a new ‘signing section’ for season ticket holder’s possibly…?

The bigger picture may just be that the byproduct of that sort of behaviour may also make our owners think twice before including a standing area in a new stand. It's all about safety and such petulant and childish behaviour by certain individuals, just because they want to sing a few songs plays straight into the detractors of standing areas hands. If stewards get abused or can be thought of as uncapable of controlling crowds, then the club won't want to encourage those kind of supporters and will happily replace them with those that are prepared to keep the status quo.

Abusing stewards and fellow supporters, pushing and overcrowding areas is all pretty pathetic pseudo macho behaviour to be honest and is counterproductive.

Every summer we pray for seats in the current spot to become available from current season ticket holders not renewing. If there are 2 or 3 a season that's a good result. How are things meant to grow organically with no seats available?

You say that swapping the family stand with the Kop would solve things but then say that the solution isn't in the hands of the club? That's completely contradictory.

So you're asking to actively remove people whove had their seats for years?

That's nice.

Move, not remove. There's a whole world of difference.

And you took it seriously?

Would you be happy if they moved your seat and you couldn't sit near the people you've always sat with?

Good lord. They don't own the seat. They rent it for 19 games a season.

Absolutely right they don't, but neither do union fs own a certain section of the ground. So in order for this to happen some people are going to be put out. There's no easy solution to this until the ground gets expanded.

I'd imagine the club would place me with the people I sit with in that instance (I'm talking close friends and family, not just the other STH holders who happen to be placed near me), as I would imagine has happened at the other clubs where this has happened. As for the random fans I'm nearby, I'm pretty sure I'd get over it for the 90 minutes every fortnight where I couldn't be near them. If you're that pally with them then surely you meet up pre and post-match, at half-time or literally any other time you have free.

It isn't. If you read my posts you'd realise I'm in favour.

I find the response of some of the fans in favour a bit offensive to be honest. Their response is to throw insults at the club (people who are just doing their job for an honest salary), claim the club don't care and insult others enough might have kids and a different perspective. I can categorically state the club are very keen to try and improve the atomsphere and its not in their interest to have a quiet stadium.

I also find it hugely ironic that union fs ask for openess from the club but then when any photo is put up they blank their own faces out.

People are questioning whether or not they are going to watch the team they've probably watched all their lives. It's a hugely emotive subject.

The bottom line is the club could facilitate a singing section for those disillusioned with the whole thing, but they choose not to.

Ah that old chestnut.

There's little point just going back and forth on here as it'll change nothing. You're skeptical of what we're trying to do and will defend the club at any opportunity, no bother :)

Demand for season tickets and interest in games has literally never been higher. There's a bigger wait for season tickets than there's ever been.

And your second point is a massive assumption, they've chosen not to do it for one game based in logistical difficulties, what the future plans are only some will know and given they've trialled and called it a success I'd guess they'd do it when it's logistically possible.

Not sceptical of what you're trying to achieve, questioning your methods of doing it.

Don't get what you'll achieve by making assumptions and calling out the club. There's a lot of views and logistical things to get right here and this very much feels like a bulldozer approach to getting what you want without considering anything else.

Weird take. Nearly nothing in the World is owned, you're suggesting anything can just be moved.

Fans CAN solve it but it makes it 10000000 times more difficult if they put obstacles in every single bloody way to stop a good atmosphere. It's like driving with your wheels popped

If the club really cared about improving the atmosphere, once said rent for 500 or so people's seats is up at the end of the season, they'd advertise it explicitly as a permanent singing section. That way 28 thousand home fans can have their pre season clapper friendly atmosphere, whilst people who prefer singing and standing can also do so. I do not understand how it is more difficult than this.

9 years in and 4 singing sections for non-league games. Hardly "bulldozing".
