Been a disrupted season, but with games in hand, win them all and we're level with Wolves...could we do the opposite of last couple of seasons and have a blinding finish to the season?

We’ve not got a bad run for the end of the season. I predict we’ll end on 57 points. 60 max.

Everton twice, Southampton, Norwich, Newcastle and Watford are possible for us to gain 18 points.

Villa and Palace could go either way.

Spurs and Chelsea 0 points.

Given how bad our accounts have been/will be after covid, every penny counts. Whilst £4.5m might not seem alot in footballing terms it can make a difference to our accounts. It may not be £4.5m per place, I may be wrong with that, but the way some on here act, some would be fine with us finishing 15th/16th if we won the ECL. Whilst I'm 100% behind us going all out for us to win the ECL I certainly don't think we should be tossing off the league.

100% behind forgetting the league, finishing 17th and winning the ECL. Imagine watching Leicester lift a trophy in Tirana

ECL is the focus yes, but 17th!? That’s approx 40 million less prize money for the club from where we currently sit if I’m not mistaken. Need to stay top 10 ideally.

Right...stupid question! I've supported City since my grandad took me when I was about 8...lived in Whitwick all my young life and nearly everyone else I knew supported the likes of Man Utd, Everton, later Chelsea and Arsenal...but when we won the league, they celebrated like they had supported City always too...I thought that sucked!

I know it's early...but this post confuses me 🤔, it is certainly more challenging than today's wordle.

Why not? Before they were games in hand, they were games we would go and try and win anyway

I like the positive outlook, but for me us to win games, we have to try and move the ball quicker, that passive rubbish we dished up against Eindhoven pretty much sums up our season, the league table is about right, we’re just a solid looking ordinary mid-table side at the moment.

Yeh fair point. And it doesn’t have to be one or the other. We could (should?!) be able to win the ECL and be top 10

Too many games in a short period of time means we’re bound to have a couple of tired performances in there.

I think 8th is a bit unrealistic at this stage, but 9th isn’t too bad a finish in the end considering where we were. Obviously if we win the ECL it becomes a much better season.

Easy to say that but most on here would be raging if we forgot the league and lost every league game between now and end of the season. With our players returning there is no reason we can't finish the league season well and win the ecl. Rodgers now has the option of rotation which he hasn't for much of the season

Because we have little to play for and we aren’t attractive to watch thus far this season, we aren’t being selected for TV games. This will also affect our financial take once everything is divied up …

We’ve had a fair amount of coverage for away games in recent months I thought. I’ve not had to find a dodgy stream for a while.

But when the choice is Man City v Liverpool or LCFC v Crystal Palace - we aren’t even going to be considered for the TV pick. Even I want to see what happens in that match, but I won’t get home from KP until the second half.

Newcastle, Everton and Chelsea away are all selected for Sky Sports too.

I would yeah.

Point still stands though. Each league position does generate more money. Maybe not a huge difference from 9th to 8th but dropping from 9th to like 15th could be a decent amount of money lost. People say they don't care about the league but guarantee most will be raging if we lose tomorrow. We also need to keep our momentum and confidence going. Our form recently has been decent other than the Arsenal game. I'm all for Rodgers rotating a little as he will anyway now he has more players to choose from but I can't agree with just sacking the remaining league games off. Of course the ECL is a huge priority though

I think Sundays game is vitally important. Its our chance to see where we are against a team in form and contenders for top 8. We win this and it gives us a major boost to go on to maybe take 8th. If we don't then I feel we'll resign to try and push for top half. Really will be a good yardstick as to where we are.

It's a funny old game isn't it. A few weeks back we couldn't defend to save our lives but we scored almost at will. Now it's the compete opposite.

Oh good Vaz is feeling better.

Maybe he can face the charges he was too Ill to answer (whilst still attending photo ops).

Somehow I guess he won’t though and we’ll soon see his corrupt snout in more troughs

League is completely irrelevant now as long we get 40 points.

Failure to win the Europa Conference League and Brendan will probably get the P45.

IMHO, no chance Brendan gets a P45 if we don't win the Europa Conference League. And the League isn't irrelevant. Wolves are going to drop more points and we have been looking so much better defensively. 8th there for the taking, although appreciate that doesn't qualify for europe it means we have finished a bad season well.

No chance Rodgers gets sacked this summer, even if we go out to PSV. We're showing strong signs of improvement and I can see us challenging again next season with a fully fit squad and no European commitments.

Completely irrelevant isn’t true. It’s best for the club to get the most money possible.

Plus momentum into the next season.

For once our run in is quite kind, so now we are closer to a full strength squad, who knows what will happen.

Will repeat again  - winning the EUCL will be equal to any drop say between 10th and 15th in the PL financially.

The difference in the PL in terms of money comes with being shown above 10 times on television. As the May dates are fixed, we ain’t getting much of the extra slice in the TV pot.

Therefore full steam ahead to winning a trophy. Would also imagine that the players bonuses are heavily weighted to winning a trophy compared to 8th to 10th finish in the PL.

Why does it have to be one or the other!? Why can’t we win the trophy AND be top 10?
