If depth was to be an area of concern after Bertand goes, I would much rather see us sign someone like Malang Sarr who could fill in the as well as strengthen CB. With Amartey doing the same on the other side if need be.

Or when he stepped up and was brilliant in the FA Cup Final at just 19. Both of which he did in the same week. Or when he pocketed Mo Salah earlier this season. He is clearly a talented young player going through a rough patch rather than being crap. It happened A LOT with Chilwell at the start of his career. 28

Thomas has practically a year of solid epl experience and Yilmaz has none, as far as I know. That's what matters to me . This guy is a prospect at that price not a guaranteed sure thing.

TommyK Posted 19 April 2022 Posted 19 April 2022 I think Thomas has struggled this year. He hasn't progressed as much this year as I expected. A few games he's looked poor and lacked confidence. I think he'll be a very good full back and happy to have him as part of the squad. We ask a lot of our full backs so having strength in that area makes sense. We should always look to the future and if there is a player that is cheap and looks like he could be a amazing...then why not. (As long as it's not breaking the bank and meaning we don't get some more pressing positions filled.)

Don't know the significance of it, but there you go. Christian Fuchs is 6-2 and 175 lbs and yes it did make a difference. Luke will put on muscle for sure but he won't do it overnight.

Also, enough of this "Thomas is rubbish" nonsense - it wasn't so long ago he had Salah in his pocket. He got injured and since then his form hasn't been great.
