I was really young when we won this! Need to do it again for the memories :fc:

Absolutely gutted with the Villa and Liverpool defeats in recent years

Also worth considering is that my children have only ever known us challenging at the top of leagues and winning stuff. There must be a whole generation of up to late teens early 20s (factor in they won’t remember the first years of life and City) who’ve only ever known success. This maybe why there’s a difference of expectations, us older ones who remember relegation, pleat out etc.. and they younger “successful” generation.

However go further back and there will be a generation from the 90’s that are in their mid to late 30’s that would see the championship and league 1 as a sad blip in what they remember of supporting a successful club.

I was in the main stand about 5 rows behind where Walshie & Grayson lifted the trophy. Can remember it like it was yesterday.

Was really late when we got home but our local stayed open for us and we had a lock in until the early hours. Good times.

No one even mentioned administration and the helicopter crash or the play-off semi finals and the Kermogant and Deeney incidents in that time too. What a crazy club we support.

I was also at Wembley and missed the replay. I remember drinking with loads of ‘Boro lads and having a real laugh with them. Quite a contrast to the Spurs mob a few years later….

Yeah me too, we also had a pre match piss up with good bunch of lads from boro. Then after the spurs final, me, my mate and our two 12 year old sons were threatened by small groups of spurs thugs all the way back to the tube. Don't even think most of them had been to the game.

The Wembley final me and my dad were guests at Soccer AM, stayed at a five star hotel, got a limo to Wembley from Sky studios, amazing day. Then we were huge underdogs to Boro's star studded team and the game looked lost when Ravanelli scored, great feeling to equalise. Nowadays seems so strange they didn't just have extra time, but I will never ever forget the replay either. I was 10 years old and at this point I had already experienced Wembley twice, promotion relegation and a cup final. It's safe to say I knew I could never ever turn back, I was hooked and it's never ever boring supporting this amazing special club. I still think that winning a major trophy and finishing 9th that first season back in 96/97 after being massive favourite for relegation was an incredible achievement.

The borough fans were a good bunch, over confident mind. Had a few beers and a sing song in the torch I think it was before all in good spirits.

In all fairness though, we met a good bunch of spurs fans after at the train station. We were sitting having a beer all pissed off when they came in singing and chanting, got talking to them and ended up spending the evening singing each other’s songs. I think we got them singing when you’re smiling and wings of an eagle and we sang some anti arsenal and Ian wright song. Then from another table about 4 lads started singing a song none of us knew, it was some Exeter fans, so they joined in the sing song then. lol

I recall that Mark Robins first right footed cross was blocked but quickly sent in another with his left  that lead to our goal in the first match. Showed the value of players comfortable on either foot

Before the match they were so sure they were going to beat us and us City fans were nervous about getting a stuffing. The replay was completely different however, there seemed to be a massive mood swing and we seemed very quietly confident that the cup was ours.

This was the day after I was born. There's a great family picture knocking about somewhere of my mum holding me at a day old on one arm, and the Mercury in the other, with the headline "Love And Claridge" across the front. Safe to say I was born into supporting the club!

Nice! I was born two days before the Blackburn play-off final with the Speedie dive.

I would add the great escape in 2015 as well, dead and buried and absolutely no hope of staying up then we won 7 in 9 and never looked back all the way until the end of the following season.

the unaware thought our performance the following season was out of the blue. I think if you add the last nine games of the escape season to the league winning season we are something like 17 points clear of the next team...amazing really and underestimated

Still get chills when watching Vardy's winner at WBA in 2015
