I’m with you on this - boo at HT or FT, but during the game is just bonkers.

He’s a shit keeper - no doubt about it. He had a terrible game today but he wasn’t any worse than Justin or Vestergaard or VK.

He’s an easy target, Because of how historically bad he’s been. If he gets picked it’s on the manager??

Plenty of people on here say back the team through thick and thin, back the team if we play crap / the performance shouldn’t dictate the atmosphere bla bla.

We are losing and in a really sticky wicket and nothing, absolutely nothing positive will come from booing a player mid game.

Aim your frustration at the board or collectively at the end, the blokes mental health is probably shot to shit.

But none of that matters apparently when people are spending their money to come and watch lol

Great post 👏🏼

It’s more etiquette.

I’ve seen games where players have shouted other players names and seen players leave it. It happens, it’s just not highlighted.

Understand that some form of vocalisation is warranted at a personal level, a need to express dissatisfaction, but I am just curious who the audience for this expression is! Perhaps I am missing the point though, perhaps it does not matter and it is just a personal expression without an expected outcome.

The manager, the owner, the director of football. All were present yesterday. Maybe if it had got that bad 2 years ago instead of people wishing Zak Rodgers a happy birthday we wouldn't have fallen as far as we have. I could be wrong about that, but the other way clearly didn't work either.

It’s an unwritten rule throughout football. I don’t think it’s in the actual FA rules.

If Ward has called for it from his position then he’s crazy. Justin would deal with it. Like Vestergaard should have really been stronger and dealt with the first.

yeah i think it is just in kids football to put their name on it.

Yeah i know Ward is terrible but i just cant see how any keeper calls for it there. I havent watched the highlights and dont intend to, but even if Ward did call for it, Justin should have known his player was there, but he didnt have a clue.

Agree with the Vestergaard comment too, or at least if he realised make the player 'foul' him or look like he fouled him at least.

I’m astonished…. As kids in training we had to do 10 press up (impressions) if we did it, a very effective way of remembering!  Then in games we’d snigger as oppositions did it and we’d get a free kick.

Maybe it was just a refereeing fad many many moons ago!

Bought a keeper and promoted Jakub.

We’d be saying the same about Iverson if he’d been selected.

They’re both League 1 and cannot play for us ever again.

Agree entirely, but what else do you suggest when the first and second choice keeper are both injured?

Reality is, the entire back 5 needs upgrading.

That defence would creak at times in the Championship.

Also a counter argument that retaining the ball, with a sweeper keeper stops the opposition scoring.

I think we can all acknowledge that Ederson isn’t the best goalkeeper in the world, however in the right system it helps.

At the moment, we’ve got a bits and pieces squad.

Maybe it’s as simple as without Winks / Vestergaard, Iversen is the better goalkeeper as well need to play differently. With them, we’d be better with Ward.

Ideally, neither play and Hermansen and Stolarkzyk are back ASAP!

Sure but I feel you’re missing my point entirely.

We cannot expect to play sweeper keeper, probably at the best of times but certainly not with Ward or Iversen in goal!

With respect you’re comparing to Man City and these opinions and views are half the problem with everyone trying to play like Man City and more often than not get in a mess and look like idiots.

Adapt!

it is a rule that doesnt carry into professional football.

I dont think there has ever been case in top flight football where a freekick has been awarded for it.

Would also say it’s a lot harder for a ref to hear when there’s 30k+ in the stadium.

We are basically screwed aren’t we. We’d have been better getting rid of one of them, we could have then had an emergency loan.

He's so unprofessional. If he cared about his career he would have left last year when he was 4th choice in a Championship team. He doesn't give a **** but is happy to turn up and collect his wage every week.

If he doesn't like being booed and jeered then he knows where the door is.

I absolutely agree with you…. Usually this would be my point too.

However with Ward it’s astonishing that he’s in the 1st team squad, let alone played… and that message has to be made to the people picking him.

But, however much abuse / booing / displeasure Ward is getting, Rudkin (and now Top) should be getting more.

Yeah it totally is. The problem is at the minute Mads is injured and Stolarcyzk has just been out for 6 months with a serious injury. I think Iversen is the lesser of two evils he’s at least shown he’s got a bit of shot stopping about him which yesterday with all three goals was simply what was needed. Hopefully we’ll see Mads back sooner rather than later.

The third choice keeper.  If your options for that are Iversen and Ward, it has to be the former.

There is a clear MINE shout in the highlights. Justin then turns around and looks palms out straight at Ward.

Clear the ball and ask questions later. The second goal is firstly on Justin for letting the ball go straight past him despite knowing there's a Wolves player in the vicinity and then on Ward's hilarious attempt to stop it.

Who gives a **** if someone called for it. Just take ownership and clear the ball.

oh, I get your point.

The challenge is, this team can’t play long either. It gets smashed long and it’s coming straight back. We aren’t physical enough.

We are a squad that is largely made up of people that can retain the ball at Championship level. We don’t get recruitment right in the summer and we are now struggling.

I think a more experienced coach would maybe played a more compact system etc, however I’m not sure we have the players to do it. We have a mess of a squad and we’ll down this end of the table without significant upgrades.

The great fear, they sell Hermansen to finance it in January. So we end up with Ward until the end of the season!

I didn’t like Cooper because he didn’t really have a plan. However I’m yet to be convinced RVN will save us.

I’m not sure many people who have longer career aspirations, would have taken us on, knowing what a mess the squad is and the injuries we have.

We need to go back to basics and play a 4 without this inverted full back.

We were only just good enough to play it in the championship with Ricardo we cannot afford to do it in the Prem.

We need a 4 that can defend - like the year we won the league.

We current do not have two full backs that can defend so they are the first players i would get in Jan.

CB's we SHOULD be ok with if they just do the basics.

But we won't we will keep trying the same old like everyone else in the league.

Unfortunately so. RVN did the only obvious thing available to him in the circumstances - pick the guy with the number 1 shirt.

I’d never criticise him for this - he hopefully sees what everyone else does now and that’s the last we see of DW.

He needs additional training. Law 12.3 states that, if it's to distract an opponent, it's a yellow card and indirect free-kick.

Well you sure as hell don't play Danny Ward. Iverson isn't pl quality but he does have the ability to save shots fired at him. This should make the decision over who to pick out of the two of them fairly simple.

Cautionable offenses according to the FA'S laws of the game under unsporting behaviour

  • verbally distracts an opponent during play or at a restart

Pretty sure that's what shouting leave it or mine falls under.

No. He’s our third choice because our first 2 are injured. If Mads and Jakub are a very short time away from being back, we aren’t losing every game because we are playing Ward.

he shouldnt even be third choice for the wage hes on, third choice should be an U21/or an older keeper at most

and the way he cant save anything we'll lose more than we'll draw or win with him being in the goal, as he isnt a premier league keeper
