Non League Football - 2022/23

Recommended Posts

York City 2-0 Boston United

York City promoted to the national league, disappointed for Boston but John Askey has done a sensational job there, they were 15th when he took over from Steve Watson!

Why was there so much injury time?

I didn’t realise there was. It went to Extra Time if that’s what you mean?

Ah yeah 6 minutes, not sure to be honest!

I think that's Dorking Wanderers 12th promotion since forming in 1999.  Surely a record?

Something stupid like that yeah. Really cool club, and Mark the chairman/owner/manager is a right character

Glad for York to get back into the national league, but sad for Boston Utd. Seem to be stuck at this level, haven't been beyond level 6 since 2007. In fact they haven't played in the Conference level since 2002, as in 2007 when they were relegated from the football league, they were forced to drop two levels.

Pleased to see York back in the national league!

My dream was Coalville going up and York staying down.

But obviously the football gods have been complete and utter ***** this season so no chance.

York, Chester and Fylde off the top of my head would have been some absolute worldie weekends away.

Weekend away in Whitby was class 4/5 years ago now. Highlight was being kicked out of a pub for chanting coalville songs too loudly lol It was very loud to be fair

Coalville have released Kalern Thomas, quite surprised by this.

Spent most of last season injured but has been a top player for us in the seasons before.

He’s signed for Ilkeston. In the same league as Coalville. I think he will do well there.

They have as also signed former Leicester player Chris O’Grady

He had an option for another year. I think Coalville wanted to keep him, but he's chosen to move on.

Pity as he's a decent full back at the level.

Yeah I rate him, would of liked him to stay. He seems a good bloke as well.

I see bukowski has also gone there. Hopefully we have a decent keeper lined up.

Ilkeston have just signed Jamie Ward who had a good season at Buxton

Along with Bukowski they have kept Saul Deeney permanently also

Ward’s a good signing. I can Ilkeston going very well next season.

First summer signing for coalville. No idea if he is any good. The first two comments on twitter aren't overly positive!

You will see alot of comments from Rushden fans ie the first ones, when he won the league with Kettering he had some altercations with them! There is also a video of him walking like conor mcgregor infront of them on youtube 😂

It’s twitter so I wouldn’t take too much notice of it.

He seems to be a big commanding keeper who has experience of winning this league so hopefully it will work out well.

Coalville have also signed a midfielder from Boston as well. Another solid experienced signing.
