So, the cities that didn't vote for him.

Equatorial Guinea v Curacao at the Westboro Baptist Church Stadium, 2am kick off with the time zone difference. You’d be a liar if you wouldn’t stay up to watch it.

Wharton and Mitchell surely should be in there given their form. Mitchell in particular when we have no left backs.

Grealish is unlucky but there is a lot of competition. I think he's fighting Gordon for the spot.

No place for the World Class Phil Foden in this next batch of international fixtures

F4ck sake this post has prompted me to realise it's internationals for the next two weeks.

Pointless, modern football is dead, just disband internationals outside of tournaments.

The game against Latvia is a qualifier tbf.

If they can be even a bit bothered they'll win that game 5-0. Pointless and symptomatic of football being dead.

They need to change the qualifying process, England playing 8 pointless games and inevitably qualifying is a waste of time for all. Although any change will provoke complete meltdown from the happy clappers,  it needs to happen.

I don't disagree but the best Countries have the best players so naturally should be winning 5-0 against teams such as Latvia. Something does need to change.

I know everyone will hate this but at this stage with 48 and potentially 64 teams in future they'd may as well let the top 24 (for 48) and 32 (for 64) teams ranked by FIFA auto qualify for the World Cup.

Qualifying is so easy now, especially in CONMEBOL and UEFA, and will be too for CONCACAF when Can/USA/Mex have to compete. Just have the teams you want anyway get there and let qualifying mean something and be interesting for the rest.

Big issue now, given the expansion, is that they couldn't even mix it up.

If the WC stuck to 8 groups, you could change things such as the worlds top 12 pre qualify, but during the qualifying phase they have to all play each other in a format similar to the new european comp league phases, to see who leads the 8 groups. At the end you'd have 4 really good sides who would end up being in the same group as another from the top 12.

I guess you could take my concept and increase it to top 16 teams. Would probably mean not everyone plays each other though!

I agree. Top ranked teams based on regional competitions like the nations league. Or a champions league type qualifying format.

But this would be against the backdrop of huge resistance to change from the happy clappers. I am not sure how many happy clappers follow England but I assume it is a large proportion.

For international football nerds like myself this is a very exciting window. The African qualification stage will conclude.

Senegal and DR Congo in a straight shootout. Senegal should do it.

A three way between Benin, South Africa and Nigeria. Benin and Nigeria have to play each other while South Afric have two fixtures they should win and therefore should qualify.

Cape Verde need 3 points from 2 games to guarantee qualification over Cameroon.

Ivory Coast and Gabon straight shootout.

Ghana, Madagascar and Comoros Islands in a three way. While we have vested interests in Ghana, either of the other two qualifying would be INSANE.

Then we have the Asian qualifiers

Group A: Qatar, UAE, Oman

Group B: Saudi, Iraq, Indonesia

id love to see Iraq do it.

And then the North American qualifiers in their second of three group stage phases.

To be fair Uzbekistan have nearly qualified for the last two world cups and have had a solid team, but yeah there’ll be some joke African and North American teams qualifying I think.

Why would it fall through?

There’s always scare stories before a major event but they should not be playing the USA, especially the western states in mid June, it’s dangerous. The temperatures will be higher than in Doha at a similar time of year and that world cup got moved to December. Fortunately the next one in 2030 will be held in Spain, Portugal and Morocco during the hottest months of the year so the weather won’t be a problem!!

There are. I’ve been oblivious to this though.

Can’t see it being moved now at such short notice. That would imply lack of thought and planning on FIFAs behalf
