Leicester player ‘facing key moment’ of his career – Wants move to specific league, club ‘sounded out’

Real Betis have Leicester City’s Ayoze Pérez on their radar, according to today’s edition of ABC Sevilla.

The attacking midfielder endured a difficult campaign with the Foxes last term, managing 11 starts in all competitions, out of which six came in the league.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side must offload a few players who have market and until that’s done, they cannot seriously advance for incoming deals.

Meanwhile, they have ‘sounded out’ the situation of the Leicester player for their attack. His current deal expires in 2023, and it’s thought this gives ‘more weight’ to the La Liga side during a possible negotiation with Leicester.

The Spaniard is facing the prospect of leaving the club due to the time left on his contract, high salary and lack of regular game time. Betis, who have been observing the market, have asked what options they have to sign him this summer.

Pérez will turn 29 years of age later this month and is ‘facing a key moment of his career’. He wants to return to Spain and sign the last important contract of his playing career.

Betis have included his name in the target list, but it remains to be seen whether his signing will be viable, considering they are waiting to carry out sales.

Pérez, who is keen to return to Spain, is now training with Leicester City, and waiting for his situation to be defined.

They are trying to offload a young Mexican international RW, Diego Lainez. I mean, he's been absolutely dogdirt for them, but he is a RW! Straight swap?

I think I remember when he left Newcastle he wanted to play in La Liga, but was tempted by our “project” (and undoubtedly higher wage).

Would be a good move for all parties if we can get him off the wage bill and get a few mill in return.

I just have a feeling all of this will take longer than we'd like...the club is trying to optimize revenue, and I can see them trying to create a bidding war if they can...

He's not been utterly abject but considering he was, for a period, a record signing he's fallen flat of what should be reasonably expected of him.

A disappointment, really, and one I wouldn't be saddened to see go.

Spanish crap team

get ready for a loan or £5m bid

He is leaving next summer on a free, and the best hope is maybe to get some to cover his wage and pay a loan fee.

Still have the feeling this is going to be a busy window.

Just needs the pieces to fall into place.

If teams are really in for Perez and Soumare this early, I am getting optimistic on outgoings.

I can see it already. loan with an obligation to buy then negotiate an even lower fee which we won’t agree to and then before you know it he’s back at Leicester

I think he'd do really well in Spain, tbf.

Ive never seen a player in spain as clumsy as Ayoze. He's got the control of an elephant.

Mods is there a way to make posts private just in case their scouts are lurking... lol

I think he'll do better with the slower pace. He's clumsy because he reacts too slowly in traffic.

Plenty of average Premier League players have gone on to look decent in Spain.

Just look at Lo Celso, Ferran Torres, Foyth
