"Rodgers has previously been linked with Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and even the England job in the past - three clubs that could be considered as 'upgrades' on Leicester."

Clubs... :crylaugh:

Think he'll jump at the chance to manage Chelsea....now that nobody else wants him and Chelsea are on a slide plus looks like Tuchel won't last the season

Rodgers is no longer an asset to us.  The board are showing him the door.

My hope is that the board are working on who comes next.

I cant believe how many fans still think Rodgers is a part of our future.

Please dont take offence but he is the Manager for this season, so therefore is an asset, we and the players need him, and since it looks like the players are still digging out for him, that's good enough for me, for now.

I am not a 100% Rodgers fan, and dont hang on his every word, or defend him to the hilt, he has many faults,  and it doesn't do any good to be to attached to this type of manager, but to say he isn't an asset at the moment, is painful to hear for both sides of the debate in my opinion, we have no choice but to back him for now.

I share your loyalty to the club and will be behind the manager and the team in every way in every game.

Do I think we deserve a manager who can take us forward? Yes.   Is that Rodgers? Nope.

I respect your opinion, time will tell, I personally think despite Rodgers faults, he and the team are in for a good season, im predicting a 6th place finish.

Some bizarre comments that "Rogers can not be trusted with the money, wasted millions of cash"

Signings on the whole by the club during his time are very solid... not that Rogers signs them anyway, recruitment do all this.

Rogers signed in 2019?

If we look who came during that time

Tielemans - Superb signing in my view

Fofana - again superb

Perez - Good squad player off the bench but we certainly overpaid.

Castagne - great squad player

Justin - great player

Daka - Starting to score again and will come good

Praet - good player, just didnt get a chance due to quality in that area

Vestergaard - He was an error, but arguably a bottom half Prem player

Bertrand - error - but was Free and purchased as position cover/first team for Fuchs and Chillwell

The clear out comment was justified as well if we are serious about trying to squeeze a top 6 sport consistently.

.. not sure you can give him Tielemans,  as he was here before  Rodgers and he was our main target after his loan!!!

If the board wanted to show him the door, he’d already be gone. What would be the point in keeping a manager you didn’t think was upto the job?

They dont want to.pay him.off... they want to sell him to .his next club

No smoke without fire, clubs coming in for our stars. We've hit our ceiling no question. On paper 6-8 clubs comfortably better off so if your LCFC why invest again to probably finish 8-10th. Sense the star players know we've maxed out now and understandably want their next move.

Massive 12-24 months ahead for the club with change.

And yet none of the ‘star’ players aside from Tielemans have even pined for a move.

It suits Rodgers to be able to downplay expectations then we finish 10th and he can say how wonderful he is.

The chairman has said what the expectations are so what Rodgers says doesn’t matter.

Because if you don’t then you’ll find yourself in the group fighting to not finish 18th ….. you can’t stand still whilst everyone else is investing to maintain their PL status

He’s really struggled with that in his time here, hasn’t he ? :frusty:

He's 100% taken us forward, he inherited a team that had been rebuilt by Puel and we had some of the brightest young names in Europe at the time, he took that and massively improved them on the pitch. The problem is, we are in huge danger of unravelling all of that progress, losing all of the talent we have and being left with ageing players who are struggling to keep the level they had 2 years ago. I'm not sure people realise just how crucial this time is for us. If we finish mid table this season, we will lose Maddison, Tielemans looks gone, Fofana will be gone, Justin will be getting bids put in from top clubs, Dewsbury-Hall likewise, Barnes is attracting top clubs now, we are at risk of losing all of our top young talent and being stuck with Vestergaard, Choudhury, Amartey etc. He's done amazingly well, but that does not excuse his mistakes.

Rodgers was a disaster in the transfer market at Liverpool. He'd brief the media that it was the transfer committee to blame (headed up by Mike Edwards) but then Klopp came in and with the same staff they haven't had a problem with transfers.

Similar issues with Celtic leading to the team he left behind that got pipped by Rangers until their current manager got some good players in again.

I wouldn't trust him with more money.

Don’t think it’s quite as clear cut as that with Liverpool - from one of their supporters https://www.thisisanfield.com/2015/09/brendan-rodgers-vs-transfer-committee-myths-mistakes-liverpools-transfer-strategy/amp/

For example not many cite Coutinho and Suarez as two signings Rodgers made or give him credit for Milner and Firmino.

At Celtic, Ajer, Dembele, Edouard made them significant profit. There’s a few like Jack Hendry who’ve proven to be good players

His signing record is patchy but it’s too easy to see it as a binary thing and label it poor.

There’s a lot of what if there.

There is, but that's the nature of trying to predict the future in an ever changing market. I think for me the logical route to go down here is to say we are financially much worse off this season, and these young players don't want to hang around for what looks like a mid table fight. I mean hey if we suddenly hit form and finish top 6, we may hang on to these young players. But that's the biggest IF of them all surely? mid table seems logical. Can't see our best players hanging around for it to be honest. I'm trying to think 3-4 years down the line, which is how every club should try to balance itself.

You’ve said yourself in the first sentence, it’s an ever changing market.

There is as much chance of a European place/cup victory as a a mid table battle.
