Popular Post moore_94 Posted 5 August 2022 Popular Post Posted 5 August 2022 (edited) Captain? “Jonny Evans. Jonny represents the collective standards of these players. He has huge respect in the changing room for what he’s achieved. He’s the natural guy to step forward.” Vice-captain? “Not as of yet. Kasper’s decision came to us quickly. It was a natural decision for Jonny. We’ll look to that next week and we’ll open that out.” Edited 5 August 2022 by moore_94 13 1

davieG Posted 5 August 2022 Posted 5 August 2022 Not taking a longer term view then or he's not sure who's going to be here in the next few seasons. 1
KingsX Posted 5 August 2022 Posted 5 August 2022 Give us most of the qualities we had in Kasper. But I do hope he can be on the pitch more than half the time.

I think it seems like they are "opening it up" to get input / suggestions from the players, rather than just giving it to whoever we would think would initially be next in line? But I imagine it could possibly also be swayed by Maddison staying maybe? Vice-captain? “Not as of yet. Kasper’s decision came to us quickly. It was a natural decision for Jonny. Popular Post Jabfox Posted 5 August 2022 Popular Post Posted 5 August 2022 Hope madders gets vice captaincy, no real surprise to see it given to Jonny. 5
Ric Flair Posted 5 August 2022 Posted 5 August 2022 Maddison or KDH, give it Vardy and er need a vice vice captain as Evans and him are good for 3-4 month absences.

Stadt Posted 5 August 2022 Posted 5 August 2022 KDH for VC, he's unflappable in a way that I don't think Maddison is. 3
Popular Post fox_favourite Posted 5 August 2022 Popular Post Posted 5 August 2022 Natural choice. Vice captain makes me think he wants to give to a player that might be one that is rumoured to be leaving. So if Tielemens stays, I reckon he’ll get it. For KDH, it’s too early for any sort of captaincy. He needs to concentrate on his football and keep improving. I don’t want any distractions from his progress this season. 4 1
StanSP Posted 5 August 2022 Posted 5 August 2022 Good. No decision on vice interesting though. Perhaps waiting for transfer window to close...

taupe Posted 5 August 2022 Posted 5 August 2022 If Youri's still around end of the window then he'd be my pick. "Opening it out" is probably a delaying tactic... to see who's left. 1
Sampson Posted 5 August 2022 Posted 5 August 2022 (edited) It’ll be Vardy. Don’t really see how KDH is ready to start ordering about veteran players. He isn’t even part of the clubs “leadership group” like Maddison, Tielemans, Evans, Vardy and Albrighton all are. Will likely be the same pecking order as before without Kasper 1. Evans 2. Vardy 3. Albrighton 4. Tielemans Even if we sell Tielemans, will only go to Maddison or someone if Evans, Vardy and Albrighton aren’t all playing. Edited 5 August 2022 by Sampson

Vardy has had one medium-term injury last season in the last 10 years and that’s it. Last season is the first time he didn’t play at least 34/38 league games since his first season and many of those games he missed were through suspension not injury. Vardy isn’t injury prone. And he’s perfectly capable still of playing 1 game a week now we don’t have European football and are back to 1 game a week again, with a mid-season break this season as well. IF he plays the first couple of games with no improvement he needs benching. I'd already have Praet and then Soumare on pre-season form ahead of him anyway. Until it's fully sorted whether he's going or not, I can't see him busting a gut in case he injures himself. Bench him.
Matt_Lcfc Posted 5 August 2022 Posted 5 August 2022 Wouldn’t have said it 12 months ago, but hope Maddison gets VC. Been massively impressed by how much he has matured and how well he has spoken, really like KDH but Maddison is much more experienced. 2

Supergray22 Posted 5 August 2022 Posted 5 August 2022 For me it was between Jonny and Jaimie. Bit too soon for KDH but hope it happens next time.

Missed 6 games though 3 injuries the season before - he's not available as much as he used to be. It's not a surprise for his age and a quick player. 2
